I ordered a gorgeous pair of custom Petrie Anky’s about two months into the Covid situation. I had put on weight and I ordered 1 cm bigger as I also swell in the summer. I finally got them and the are really too big. Has anyone ever been able to have them taken in by a shoe repair or boot person?
I made a similar mistake with another brand (ordered up from my previous pair that I had to work hard to stretch and break in). I wound up sending them back to the factory and paying them for alteration for less than it would have cost me at a repair place.

I had a pair of customs tailored (the other company let me keep this pair and built me an entirely brand new pair with whatever colors I wanted). I sent mine to Joy Pritchatt at Polomare Workshop right outside of Wellington and they are absolutely PERFECT. I cannot recommend her more. It was only about $100 to tailor both boots (and both needed a different amount of work). I’m also not in Florida so we did the measurements and planning all via email. I was worried that they’d come back and be a mess but they are truly back to feeling like custom boots. If you want her info I’m happy to pass along her email and info!!
