Hi, all.
I’m looking at purchasing my horse’s first double bridle to call his very own, but I’m not 100% “in love” with what I’m finding out there. I recently ordered a lovely bridle that I’m sending back because the color just isn’t quite right. Ideally, I want one that can match my saddle which is cognac, black, and cream. I’ve looked into the Schumachers, but I feel like I’ve read on here that the quality isn’t necessarily all that great given the amount of money you’re spending. I sent a message to the woman in Germany who does all the awesome Petrie boots (and also sells Doebert bridles) to inquire whether or not Doebert could make something like what I want but am waiting to hear back. Halter Ego has a couple of bridles I’m tempted to try, but after some of the reviews here, I’m a little worried about the fit.
When I Googled custom bridles, I came across this site for Black Horse Leather, and it looks like they could be an option as well. Has anyone here ordered from them before? (I did a search but didn’t see anything on the forums, but I could have missed it.) Or, does anyone have other suggestions? I’ve been looking at bridles all over the place: Montar, Finesse, Kingsley, Bridle 2 Fit, Lumiere, MacRider, Solo, Passier, Stueben…most are more utilitarian, which is great, and I know that the judges don’t care and neither does my horse (with the exception of it fitting him properly) but I’m a nerd and have a vision for what I’d love to have…if it is possible.
Thank you!
