Custom Half Chaps Vs. Parlanti

Hi…

Back into riding after a while and my old half chaps have seen better days. Looking into buying some new ones as I like riding in both tall boots and half chaps… Anyway I have been looking at dover and I have been eyeing the parlanti half- chaps… But then I also see the customs and can’t decide. I might like the customs as I have longer legs and I have a feeling the customs may last longer… Any help greatly appreciated!

If price isn’t a barrier, custom half chaps will win every time in my opinion…they’re generally more expensive but worth it. I’ve had my current pair of customs for 12 years and they are in beautiful shape and SO comfortable. I will buy another pair when these finally need to retire as they fit perfectly and the quality is unreal. Then again, it’s been since 2005 that I’ve ridden in anything but these guys, so I am a bit biased.

I’m surprised how great my treadsteap half chaps look. I have alwasys ridden saddle seat so I have never used them. I love them now.

I’m a huge fan of my Tucci half chaps. I have the Harley paddock books and the half chaps which snap in. There are so many sizes in the half chaps they feel like customs…and that’s a tough one for my short wide calves. For tall boots I recently got parlanti customs because nothing off the shelf fits.

I love my parlanti’s they are soft but don’t drop and bunch like their tall boots.
