Customizing Your Plain Tack Trunk

I have a large plain Oakcroft tack trunk and was considering giving it a facelift. I recently bought a Quillen’s rectangular stall plate to use as a front name plate (whew that was pricier than I expected). I was thinking of putting bungies or cork in the lid (non-bandage). I had considered additional poly for protection.
Has anyone else customized their plain tack trunk? Added brass edges? Any other thoughts?

A lot of companies are doing vinyl decals for the outside, which is very snappy!

People could also add a square or oval to the front of the trunk with logo, initials, farm name, etc.

I actually updated mine with Baker fabric!

Where are you seeing those?

My trunk right now is just a little plastic stanely but I blinged it up with some monogram stickers from Michaels.

Not super classy but if you like bling you could hide it inside the lid of your trunk!

I did, unless I’m missing something I don’t see it.

Also Relatively Stable on Etsy does tack trunk monograms (and monograms for everything else in the world lol)

I’m currently building one and my thoughts for the lid so far are a catch-all net, a small whiteboard, and some sort of place to stick papers. I’m thinking of using small/medium storage boxes (the pretty ones) on the inside for organization so that I can group things, label them, and pull out a whole box if I need to. I will admit that I have a thing for storage boxes, though.

look at the pretty monograms at swankysaddle.com  they look really nice.

^ Love the script tack plate for a more casual feel.

I have a custom made trunk that I intentionally had done with minimal “extras” externally. However, I’m thinking about adding a white board, mirror, and possibly a cork board to the lid.

Anyone have a source they prefer?
