CWD Saddle Tree Questions

I am seeing used CWD saddles with different dot-to-dot measurements, but I have always read that CWD has one tree size (other than AO) and the panels adjust the fit. Is it possible there are different trees or are the wider tree measurements (with identical panels) an indication that the tree has stretched with time and use? For example, I have seen a couple 5" trees, but they are not stamped AO, and then I have seen AO saddles with 4.5" measurements.

Also, does anyone know if different CWD models have different trees (not talking about the carbon trees)?

As far as I know, CWD has only two (wood) trees - standard and AO. If I remember correctly, an AO is supposed to measure 4.75" and a standard is supposed to measure 4.25". That said, my CWD measures 4.5" and is not an AO, but the panel configuration is a little more open in front than many CWDs I see listed.

My understanding is that CWD can spread the trees a little bit (they offered to do this for an acquaintance), but I think the panel configuration does make a difference in how the saddle measures. Also remember that saddles are handmade, so there is always going to be some variance.

They have two sizes in the wood tree. The carbon tree is one size, but it tends to measure a little wider than the regular wood tree. And, 17.5" seat and up will measure even slightly wider than the 17" and under carbon tree (no idea why that is, but it was something that came up when I was trying to find a saddle to fit my slightly wider than medium but not a medium-wide horse).
