Has anyone tried the CWD So Jump stirrup leathers? Any thoughts or feedback on these would be appreciated!
I have the Devoucoux version of these (think they’re pretty much the same) and I like them.
You can kind of twist the leather when you’re putting the stirrup on so the stirrup is always perpendicular to the stirrup leather. For me it makes getting and keeping my feet in the stirrups much easier. It’s also simple to adjust the length of the leathers while sitting in the saddle.
The downside is that you can’t run the stirrups up. I bought a saddle cover that has these little pockets for holding the girth and I remove the leathers after each ride and put them upside down into the girth holder pockets. That way I can keep the leathers and saddle together.
I have them and love them. I use freejump stirrups with them so just take them off after I use the saddle. Super easy. I’ve had lots of complements on them too. My only complaint is that the sizes don’t really give much overlap. I could actually use a size between the two.
I would love to see photos of your combination and hear more about them! I also don’t know anything about the stirrups that go with them, but I currently have Royal Riders and love them. Can you PM me?
I have had them. I found them to be more stable like western fenders. I had them at the near shortest hole so they were very wide. Would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for stability leathers.
