What does the S1, 2, 3 mean?
700 refers to front part of the panel, 200 middle and 300 rear? what is 900 and 800?

They seem to periodically change the coding so it sort of depends what year.
I don’t know what you mean by S1, 2, 3
SE01, SE02 are the models and describe how flat or deep the seat is
2C, 3C, 2L, 3L are the flap configuration and describe how long/forward the flap is
The three three-digit numbers describe the fill of the foam in the panel. I don’t know that you can really “describe” them in any specific way. For example “705/205/305” is the pro panels, which is slightly more cut out all around (I think be 5mm) than the typical panels, but I don’t know how exactly to describe that.
Actually I’m not sure of the S1, so far I think I have seen it only on 2Gs saddles, what does that refer for?
The standard panels should be 700/200/300 and pro 705/205/305 as you stated, but occasionally you can have configurations also for 8, 9 and even 5. Im curious what are those for?
I think that’s the configuration of the flap (S1).
The panels are built up more/less because the CWD rep felt certain areas needed to be that way for a horse they were customizing the saddle for. So this horse has a wither hollow and the rep calls for a little more foam in that part of the panel. That horse has a wider area so the rep calls for a little less foam in the area. etc.
I get that, but I’d like to know more specifically what each refers for
I would call CWD with really specific questions
S1 is seat size. That’s a 17" I believe, with S2 being 17.5.
200 is the entire panel. 700 is front if some is removed. There’s a different code if some is added. 300 is rear. 800 is that typical bridging area near the back of the flap. I can’t recall what 900 is.
I see, tnx! But how does CWD actually measure its trees? Or do they only add or remove padding on 700?
The tree width is not the front panel thickness. I’m not sure what you are asking?
What are the tree measurements? How are they measured? The gullet size or what ever its called
What are you asking? The tree size and panel shape/fill are two different things. The tree is measured dot to dot across the front of the pommel, typically. Obviously the actual tree is inside the saddle so you can’t measure it exactly but that is how you approximate the measurement. Regular tree seems to be around 4.5" and “wide” tree around 4.75". From what I’ve seen wider than that exists but CWD doesn’t like to sell them and they’re not common
vxf111 is correct - wide trees have to be special ordered and are not very common. I was told, by the rep who fit me in October, that each tree (the SE01 tree, SE02 tree, SE03 tree, etc) is one specific size with the SE03 tree being the widest tree. From browsing used CWD listings that does not seem to be correct, but I do not work for CWD so who knows.
I don’t know if the image loaded but my CWD 2gs is stamped:
Se29 (semi deep seat) S3 (18”) CC TR 2L (long vs forward flap)
PA 705 205 305 (pro panels) RT
16 (2016) 44152 (production #)
I can’t remember what the CC TR means but I’m having my rep out to check fit on Jan 5th and I’ll be sure to ask her. This saddle was custom for my horse & I.
Does anyone know if there is anywhere on the stamp that indicates the gullet width or the tree width? I have been nosing around and can’t seem to find an answer.
