DAD! It's just around the corner ...

I was also in the new stalls and they were awesome. It had never occured to me that they would have been able to accomplish so much renovation since last year. I was one who used staples for display material, not knowing there was any rules not to.

Ty for the additional ideas on how to avoid them in the future!

I wasn’t talking about you, MRF!!! You know that,… right? No, the staples I was referring to were the ones that you need a HAMMER to get in the wall. They are a U shape, with pointy ends,…not just a regular staple from a staple gun.

sigh I probably should have just not mentioned anything at all. sigh

I know Omom, and I purposefully use the shortest ones I can find, but I am feeling guilty. Although I pulled all the ones we used for our stall curtains, I did forget to take down our flyers  so I am feelin’ guilty anyway

MRF,
I wasn’t trying to ‘out’ anyone. And I was not aware that there were any rules about staples in the new barns. If I had been, it would have been posted in the office. As someone pointed out, the stall cards were stapled in place. I was only trying to make a point that it’s up to everyone who uses the property to try to leave it the same (or better) than you found it.

Yes, and you’re right here… let’s just say the individuals were inconsiderate. Is that a little better?[/QUOTE]

Yep, the “i” word is not really accurate and is incendiary – no dummies in the breeding world as far as I can tell, or at least not at this level. To phrase it differently, w/regard to Devon stalls competitors may need to exercise consideration, thoughtfulness, and community-mindedness.

Thanks, Peskee.
That hunk of a man with me is my hubby. I talked him into coming up one year for the Saturday night performance. He prefers to stay at home and take care of all the critters. That’s what allows me to do so many shows each year. He’s very understanding and supportive.

The Fun Tak is safe for kids, and it does come off easily. Similar to silly putty, but stickier. Not sure why it is not opening. It was just a link to a site that sells it. I have even hung wall clocks with it.

My banner is home made :uhoh: so not sure if anyone will make one like that. I made it just for Devon, but it also worked at Lexington. I just used heavy material, and hemmed it top and bottom around a rope by hand one evening while watching a movie. I made felt letters and used fabric glue. Not fancy, but it is a banner. If you look close, you can see the ropes top and bottom tied off to the window bars. I have also used it lower to the side, just tied between 2 windows.

I use the binder as well for photos and information. You can see it on the little decorated table, just inside the doorway.
