Dahhhhlings! Ladies Foxhunting Clinic Weekend Fall 2011

September 24th works for me - I’ll start saving my egg money for the cap.

Are newbies welcome? I have hunted twice (ages ago) and I still do lots of hunter paces, etc, and would love to learn from you lovely ladies and get my feet wet again in a fun way. But it seems like ya’ll know each other already, so I don’t want to invite myself if it’s by invitation only. Let me know, and what I lack in experience, I make up for with my cocktail mixing abilities.

of course we want you!

We started the coth hunts FOR the newbies! The whole idea is to pass the koolaid in a fun learning situation so that the morning of the hunt you feel prepared. This has grown so much from when Pleasantmeadow and her friend came down from N.J. And it has been sooo much fun as the supportive group of hunting princesses has grown.

I do think it would be considerate for us to encourage the gentlemen riders to have a coth hunt, too… They DO look quite gallant and dashing in their attire…Most suitable for the Ladies to swoon over…

Errrr … that’s the point. : o )
Please join us. Open invitation. We got horses. We got rooms. We got guidance. We got parties. We got game. Join.
Looking like both Sept. 24 weekend and Nov. 12 weekend might be open for CotH crew, but do chime in asap (email me directly if you wish, or call) so there’s a horse for you.

I just can’t stay away!

Leaning towards the November date! I’d like to give my new ponies a chance to get their feet wet (so to speak) before loading them up and heading down to the most beautiful hunt country south of NJ!

Whicker - get ready for me!!! It looks like “my” mare’s paddock is going to turn into a gelding paddock. Have yet to confirm, but can hardly pass up a COTH gathering! Considering last gathering, sans horse, I still made it down for our dinner party and home the next day! (Not to mention buying an oversized Thelwell pony on the way home.)

Just want to throw this out there… our Hunt Ball is the following week - and we throw a kick-a** party! We should be hosting a couple of extra hunts that week as well… The more the merrier  I’ll save ya a spot at my table

Even though it’s months away, I’m excited already! If I can save up some $ I will try for both dates, but for now I have 9/24 as a definite for me. I’d like to ride again during formal season as well, because DH just gave me a great cream silk stock tie! (Actually, it’s a silk scarf from a motorcycle company, but it’s perfect as a stock tie, too)
JSwan, I’m looking forward to seeing you again, since I missed you in March.

Oh YAY! I felt really stupid posting, but then again, I’m always a bit shy until I get to know peeps. I could bring my horse, that is an option, but if there is a BTDT type available, that would be an awesome option too! I’m open to either date, maybe both depending on the cost. One more question, can I wear my regular navy hunt coat or do I need something more foxhunting appropriate? I’ve always been able to cap in my standard duds, but understand there is protocol and tradition and want to make sure I am fully prepared! If I could get a ballpark on room, horse, cap, etc, that would be great and I will put it on my calendar!

Love horses, galloping, jumping, having fun, and parties! This outing was made for me

Nov. 12 may work for me. Although my parents might be out of town then- it probably would not put me in good daughter standings by coming to visit when they’re not there…

Hunter’s Rest, I’ll email you in the next few days. I’d like to go out twice if possible when I’m there so will need to see what your schedule/ODH schedule looks like for dates.

If anyone local to Warrenton/Middleburg can recommend a good tailor that might be able to repair the sleeve lining in an extremely old hunt coat, please let me know!

Email me at home.
Yes navy is correctly formal.

Ladies Fox hunting weekend

Hi all March 2011 Hunting princesses - I’d love to do another weekend w/ the Hunter’s Rest crew in November. October is totally booked for me, but I had such a great time in March that I’d love to come try it again.

If I’m going to be able to make one, it’ll be the November. Sure hope I can!!!

looks like i’m leaning towards the november date…as sept 24 is TPH hunter trials and my horses have some titles to defend! (working hunter on my TB, hunter pairs and family class with both horses!)

I am double checking with my friend who rides with me and hope we can make it out. I have trade shows and am confirming dates!

It will be about a 12 hour ride out there, but I think I’ts doable…HR says its 8 hours to lexington from her place…but i’m 4 hours out from there…but might have her give me better directions as compared to GPS…

keeping fingers crossed.

My work schedule is making me all stabbity. So I can’t confirm that I will be there, but I can confirm that if I do show, I won’t be riding.

Wateryglen dahhhhling shall we follow along in your Aston Martin, or shall we take–oh, what do the kids call it nowadays? Oh, yes, shall we take the hoopty, my Jaguar?

Or shall we go greener and healthier with the Cadillac of bicycles?

:: chokes with laughter, clears throat with some Pinnacle vodka and orange juice, it is before noon, after all ::

Hunter’s Rest, I’ve just e-mailed you as well… I’ve lurked on these threads before, but may just be able to make it this year!

CarrieK,
You are bringing your social secretary, aren’t you? He could direct one of your staff to pedal the rickshaw. No need to get out of breath on our small mountain roads.
Besides, you have more important things to do with your hands- binoculars, cooler of champagne for those of us who stop by to inquire about your delicate health…:lol:

Oh, whicker dear, I have totally changed my mind about everything! Nacho my hot–erm, efficient social secretary shall be making plans for Snobbington Hunt to be the debut of my new transportation. If
this does not rock one’s world, I am at a loss.

CarrieK,

That is one “pimped out ride”!!

I’ll be there no matter what day y’all decide on, as I’m local to HR.

But I am not parking by CarrieK’s rig unless she gets a new paint job on it.

JSwan,
Don’t you git all uppity ‘bout CarrieK’s lil mobile! Ah din’t see any air conditioning or ventilation like a verandah. She’s going to have one tuckered social secretary from all the fan’n’!

Besides, your chariot has quiet and tasteful Mickey Mouse characters to match your ratcatcher tie…

CarrieK, you are my style guru, from now til forever after. And I want you to set about finding ME a social secretary from wherever you get them from. Because, you know, my…busy social life…just demands that I have one. Yeah, that’s it. Busy social life. Just ignore the fact that once I get one, probably no one will see me for two years.

However, I did something MORE fun today…I took my (knock wood) maybe rehabbed pony for a spin in the fields, and he lapped it up. I have pictures!!! I thought these would enlarge a whole lot more in photobucket, they do on my computer; I may go back and crop them and fiddle around so you can see us better, but at least you can see what a gorgeous day it was!!!

Please if you feel like it, drink a toast to my mighty boy’s health tonight, Hunter Princesses
