My trainer took the pics and she said, “He looks like he did on the hunter paces, except he’s actually LISTENING to you now!” LOL. I was actually riding him with NO cavesson at all because he scraped his face up in a silly horse moment, and, (he’s a big mouth opener) she said he would start flap his jaw open, and then…just…close it. Ah, sigh.
So i look to see what’s new in this thread and find that my earlier post has been copied by this lenika08 greenie for advertising!

And served by social secretaries…note that one is no longer enough…one to serve tea, one to fan overheated self, one to carry tack, one to give leg up (maybe not, that cute hand slippage onto bum area is not so cute when the bum has sweated right through its breeches…) maybe one to hose horse off and playfully misdirect hose onto new cute polo (if I could afford to buy new cute polo…) See, summer fun is all what you make up. I spent today sanding a deck. Pony antics sound good right about now

Jawa’s cooling vest
Jawa posted about a cooling vest that is made for hot AND humid. The lady who makes them even sends them to Brazil for the riders there!
Soo, I finally started wearing the one I got and the cooling beanie that goes inside the helmet.
It is quite surprising to wear. They feel pleasantly warm, so I though that they weren’t doing a thing- But I wasn’t sweating- No rivulets dribbling down my face, or arms or all the other interesting places it goes.:eek:
So I’m riding along, and my gallant son, tells me, as I suggest a long scenic detour, that HE doesn’t have a vest, and he is getting heat exhaustion!
I think that means it works. They come in colors, too. Lots of wardrobe choices to go with the cute mesh polo. I think that maybe it is suppose to fit closer to the body than the one I chose. You can tell there is some retail therapy coming up…:winkgrin:

Really, all they did was cut and post an earlier post of mine about not having any hills to ride and then tacked their ad for something to do with hair, or hair removal, onto the bottom.
Oh well, I guess my 15 minutes of fame are over!
I don’t have any good pics the way Mortebella did, but I finally got my pony out on the trail, solo. After some bad experiences with my previous horse, I was afraid to trail ride alone. But there never seems to be anyone around at my boarding barn who will ride out with me, so I finally girded my loins and went out alone this weekend…and the pony was great! I’m not sure it really qualifies as a trail ride, we were only out about 15 minutes each time, but she gave me a nice calm flat footed walk, some happy trot work, and I gave her several opportunities to munch on some nice swamp grass. I want her to associate getting out of the ring with wonderful things, like food!
MAYBE…with another year of loin-girding…pony can hunt?
I have to figure out how to repair my mother’s coat, but in the sleeve lining in 50 years! There are some worrying thread ripping sound of this past time, wear it…

I think Hinderella and I will have to set up an autograph table in November. $5 for signatures, $10 for photos. Have to make money to pay for the cap fee!
