I do believe its time to start the 2 week countdown!

Bought the plane ticket, keeping my fingers crossed that my jacket will be repaired in time (and still fit!), and that the weather shall be cooperative for everyone. Especially me- its finally “chilly” here tonight for the first time this fall. The cat is firmly anchored in my lap for the first time since last spring. I’m thinking maybe I can bring her with me- she can be wrapped around my neck while I ride, as a toasty neck scarf.

Looking forward to seeing everyone I know from the previous trip, and to meeting the new recruits…

Counting down with you! It’s snowing here in CT at the moment. I have my hunting things ready to go, including a cool new smartwool camisole in case it’s chilly. Actually, I think buying new wool is the best way to guarantee warmer weather  All I need now is a hairnet. They seem to be one time use items for me…I use them and lose them.

Happy Fox Hunting, Princesses!

I hope you all have a blast. Maybe next year I’ll join you (if the financial gods shine appropriately on me).

I’ve decided I’m going to hunt next weekend. I am taking a deep breath and ordering my coat and boots tonight. But I am drawing the line at buying a stock tie. I have white cashmere scarf that should be just fine. Do I have your support in using that, or do I really have to buy a strip of starchy cotton (booooo)?

Bah, it’s not working.

These are the things that keep me up at night, folks.

00pisces, do you have a regular white show shirt with a plain white choker? That should be fine if it’s your first time out/you’re a guest.

Uh oh!!

00Pisces ! For cryin’ out loud! BORROW one!! Are you coming with us? I’ve got many. We all haves many. There are no substitutes for a stock tie. Gotta have it! One badly tied is better than none. A pre-tied one is better than none!:eek::yes:

PM me if you need one for 11/12 here. I can bring extry!

I always tell people that when you take up a sport; you wear the uniform of that sport don’t ya? . You don’t wear snow sking clothes on the tennis court. You don’t wear football helmets…you wear riding helmets… You wouldn’t wear a bathing suit to play golf!! see what I mean? !! etc!

Yes Pisces please NOT the cashmere. Borrow from WateryG or from me.

I keep a fake velcro one in my trailer must for wardrobe emergencies.

I’d gladly lend it to you.

Sigh, Having horse problems so hunting is up in the air right now. May drag out the short horse and ride third field as he is not fit for much else.

Y’all will have one won’t you?

That’s the point – to highlight the wonders of the third field! Of course we will. Join us. We have better cookies over here …
PS JSwan will you be joining us for Thurs. night (Griffin? Black Bear? El Agave in Marshall???); Fri. night (here)?, Sat. night (Watery Glen)? Etc. ??

Thanks for the offers, ladies. But after attempting to tie my scarf like a stock tie, and failing miserably, I sighed heavily, whined, and grumbled as I clicked the button to add a stock tie to my shopping cart. Along with new boots and a new pair of breeches I just had to have.

Understand that I’m totally on board for dressing the part; I’m just three years old when it comes to what touches my skin.

Actually, the stock tie is the purchase I’m most comfortable with having made. I’m in the process of losing weight, and I figure that’s the item that will still fit me this time next year!

Nope! Back when I first started riding again, I swore that I was never ever ever going to show ever again, and so I deliberately purchased things that were not fit to be seen in public. I’m just going to do a white turtleneck.

JSwan please come!! I am bringing the youngster again and she needs your steady eddie to follow!

JSwan,
I’ve been looking forward to riding with you! Third field has lots of fun, and more time for “Grazing” as we watch the fox come to us, loop around and show himself again. Seriously, Hunter’s Rest is AMAZING in positioning third field. You miss none of the houndwork, and usually see more.

I’ve capped with ODH several times - but this season the hunting gods are not smiling upon me as I’ve barely hunted with my home hunt!!! Bagged hunting today because the short horse just isn’t fit enough yet and it’s a big Meet - big horse has decided not to die but just drive me clinically insane with this mystery malady. Tests should be back Monday, I hope.

On a lighter note - I have an Ashland Basset puppy. And a sick hen who made a remarkable recovery in my tack room, and has now decided a heated tack room is a pretty cool place to live. I tried to kick her out but she walked back in and hopped back into the little sickroom box I made for her.

So at least things aren’t dull around here.

JSwan, sorry to hear about the big horse. I was hoping to meet hom on this trip. I do hope you’ll bring the “little” horse out with us in third field.

We MUST have pictures of the Basset puppy! And the house chicken.
