Daisetta Saddle - Yes or No?

I’ve never been a fan of mixed leather and cordura but the Daisetta from Circle Y High Horse looks ok. Additionally, it’s light and I’m not. Any reviews on it?

I just noticed the price has skyrocketed by $200 but a few sites haven’t changed their prices yet. So if I’m going to order it I need to do it now.

I can’t speak to that particular brand or saddle, but I have a friend who is a former saddle snob who bought a leather/cordura saddle when his old shoulder injury made it increasingly difficult to hoist his heavy custom-made leather saddle up onto his tall horse. He was kind of skeptical initially but now says he loves it and wishes he had bought one sooner.

I recently bought a Circle Y/High Horse saddle — different model, but a leather/cordura model. The light weight is great, and it’s very comfortable.

I don’t know that model, but I’ve heard good things about Circle Y over the years.
I used to have a cordura saddle that I loved. Not Circle Y, but only 15 lbs.

That’s a great question and we love the responses on here! The Daisetta and all High Horse saddles have recently been redesigned to have wood trees, made by Precision saddle trees in Yoakum, TX, after much design and deliberation. We’ve loved the Ralide trees, and they’ve had a lot of great benefits - in stock models, for the most part, will still have Ralide trees.

We’ve been working with our saddle makers and Precision Saddle Trees to make our trees fit as many horses as well as possible, with lots of success, and decided it was time to take this technology to the High Horse line. Because of this, there has been a price increase, which has also allowed us to make some other great modifications in addition to the new trees to add value to the saddles, including upgraded fleece on the leather saddles.

Ralide and wood treed High Horse saddles carry our 10-year tree warranties, that has not changed.

The Daisetta is one of our most popular and well-loved models, and a lot of research has gone into it and the other Cordura saddles. We’ve used Cordura for quite some time now, and have had a lot of success and good reviews with it.
