Two breeders here in New England have gotten Dancier pregnancies. I want to say both of those Danciers are yearlings now. If I’m not mistaken, both breeders used Dr. Ann Schmidt in Massachusetts. Dr. Schmidt is very helpful and willing to share what works for her, so if you or your vet have questions, I’d suggest giving her a call.
Success with Dancier frozen semen
We hav been very satisfied to get 3 frozen semen pregnancies with 3 different mares, including one difficult breeder that we ET’d and recip. is due next month, using Dancier frozen semen here in Australia. First 2 foals were stunners!
How big are his foals?
Mare is 16.1 1/2 I don’t the resulting foal to be under 16 hands.
He is smaller himself…modern and around 16.1 so I wouldn’t expect him to throw height. The two I have seen are small and refined. One is only 15.2 at three.
I am planning on using Dancier this spring. Fingers crossed!
I haven’t bought the semen yet, but am planning to use Dancier this year… will try one cycle and hope for the best.
Ok, my mare was inseminated Saturday am. Dancier’s frozen had about 50% motility and my vet said it looked better than some fresh she had just received.
This mare was bred with frozen last year for the first time and conceived twins (successful pinch) BUT that semen was know for being super!
Did anyone else actually use him yet this year?
I will let you know what happens in less than 2 weeks…
I’ll be awaiting your two week report. I have loved Dancier forever.
I have Dancier in the tank as well, but have been hesitating to use. But seeing it was purchased way back when I am encouraged it might be worth the try. Any idea what mares he is crossing well with?
In my experience best with mares with some knee themselves. Seen a lot of his foals and like overall. And yes size
I have a big moving Dancier/Cordoba/weltmeyer coming 3 year old. Video on my YouTube under WalnutFarm Noone bought yet, so will start under saddle in 6 months. Always fun part!
Sold a young Dancier last year to Canada and owner lives him!
I just think for the US marked he is nof so well known yet?
After a miscommunication from the broker, my mare was inseminated with 1/2 a dose of Dancier (both pre- and post-ov) but today’s u/s shows we have a tiny black dot! Here’s hoping she holds on to it!

oooh ooh… congrats… keep us posted. This is exciting!
Walkabout Station has her Wakaluba back in foal to Dancier. Last year’s model is growing up on our farm and you just have to love that filly. With Warkant being recently deceased I think she will be worth a lot one day both in breeding and the dressage world.
I have waded through a lot of Dancier progeny over the last months and the success-rate is super. One I had on my watchlist for clients last week sold before we could get there in the mid-five figures (Euros that is). I’ll probably upload some of my favorites in the coming two weeks but won’t make it before next weekend (summer auction…)
Jan (Walkabout Station)'s 2010 filly can be seen on my website here, you have to scroll down to Dancing Doubloon:

She is blingy! And look at that trot!! Love her
My mare only has a star and one white pastern, so I hope Dancier does this to my baby
Just bought two doses of Dancier for my Rubinstein I mare. It will be an ET breeding.

I was just admiring said mare’s belly today…we are about 6 1/2 months along and all is well
Haven’t come up with a name yet, so for now it is referred to as “Dancing Baby” Mare has had 2 fillies, so maybe now we’re due for a colt? I haven’t had a boy in 8 years, so that’s my hope…

How exciting! Best wishes
1/2 dose of Dancier and you got a pregnancy? Big Congrats!!!
How was the semen quality?
one more question for Trinity Sporthorses: Did your vet do oxy or a lavage protocol after breeding with Dancier semen?

Nope (at least not that I recall).
The motility was 50% and there were 8 straws per dose- used 4 prior (too early) and 4 post (on the SBS protocol)
