Anyone had good results with it this year?
We have a 16 day pregnancy- one dose post ovulation, about 40% motility on thaw. The mare has had 6 foals, and has a foal at side. The breeding was done on her 30 day cycle.
Congratulations!
So 30 day cycle means you didn’t do anything unnatural (short cycling etc)
Do you think that has a better pregnancy rate or do you think it matters?
Check with Mary Lou (Home Again Farm). I believe she tried Dancier semen a few years ago without success, but don’t remember the circumstances.

I can tell you what I have done that seems to work. I start teasing the mare 4 days after the foal is born and ultrasound every other day just in case the mare hates the stallion with a foal at side (and they often do). If they look like they are going to ovulate before 10 days after foaling, and there is some fluid or opaque areas, I generally let that one pass and short cycle later if the uterus looks clear then. If they look like there is fluid or material in the uterus right after foaling, I start teasing at 21 days post foaling and breed on the 30 day heat, sometimes flushing and treating if necessary before breeding, and doing the oxytocin protocol after breeding. If the uterus look clear on ultrasound, I breed right away after foaling, even using frozen semen. These mares are usually my young ones that have quick uncomplicated foalings who drop their placentas quickly. The older girls who have been in production for many years need a little more time to recover.
The fresh we’re getting over here was sort of thin probably owing to the stallion being very high in demand. It worked for us but I’ve heard from others who switched stallions after a few unsuccessful tries with Dancier.
Good luck
