Dander Reducing Wipes?

I just found and bought a package of Burt’s Bees dander reducing wipes for cats. I haven’t used them yet and did a bit of research which seems favourable. Has anyone on here used them what’s your opinion?

Haven’t tried them. I wonder if they can get to the dander at the level of the skin (easier if you have Rex cats but not all do). Still, I used to bathe my older Rex and they were OK with it - they actually liked the warmth. Of course there was the time that one peed in the kitchen sink as I was bathing him - sort of like putting a sleeping person’s hand in warm water and running the tap? I’ve heard of that…

I do think that a weekly bath would do a better job.

No weekly baths here, it would be way too invasive and upsetting for them and me.

I would only use them on the two that sleep with me the most to try and lessen my allergies. I think I’ll call a few vets to get their opinion on the ingredients and whether it may harm the cats when they lick their fur.

I wouldn’t hesitate to use them. But for major dander if you aren’t going to bathe them I would use one of the foaming waterless shampoos.

One of my very allergic pals has just one cat…an Abyssian…and she tells me the wipes help a lot She uses every each night, also has a freestanding airgilter n the bedroom

Air filter, I hate auto correct

Spoke to my vet today and she said the ingredients listed shouldn’t cause any harm. She also said bathing them weekly/bi weekly is actually a useless endeavour to lessen cat dander and may cause other problems with dry skin, dandruff or a reaction to shampoos.

I also found this on a website.

  • Wipe the dander away. Bathing a cat often is suggested as a way to reduce the dander, but experts disagree on its effectiveness. "Bathing a cat was once believed to be helpful," say Dr. Robert Zuckerman, an allergy and asthma specialist in Harrisburg, PA, "but the cat would have to be washed almost daily." Instead, daily use of products such as Pal's Quick Cleansing Wipes™ will remove saliva and dander from your cat's hair and are less stressful for felines who prefer not to be rubbed in the tub. • I waaaant an airgilter!!!

I’m actually looking into air filters now and will most likely buy one for my bedroom and for downstairs where Bummy Bird is.

I started using the wipes tonight and Ralpie and Ella didn’t seem to mind them at all.

An airgilter might be the perfect gift for the friend who has everything…however, I think airfilters do help.
