Dante Weltino for a Belissimo M mare?

I was wondering if anyone can comment on whether Dante Weltino would be a good cross on my mare Fortuna. I am also open to other stallion suggestions. I prefer frozen semen from Europe or fresh semen from within Canada as I prefer not to deal with the hassle of importing semen from the US. Also, stallion must be Oldenburg, Hanoverian or KWPN approved.

This is her pedigree

and a conformation picture of her as a 3 year old (she is 6 now)

There’s not a whole lot I’d change about this mare. She’s got 3 good gaits, very pretty feminine type, correct legs/feet and a temperament to die for. If I was going to pick on something, I would say that her croup is too flat and she could use better muscling over topline. Mostly, I would like to just add a more expressive front leg. This foal would most likely be a keeper for me to ride. I am breeding for an upper level dressage horse and I don’t particularly care about flashy foals or young horse classes. Dante Weltino appeals to me as the foals I’ve seen seem to have an expressive front leg (as well a good engine). My concern is that he is line bred to Weltmeyer and my mare also has Weltmeyer on the dam side. Is 3 crosses to Weltmeyer going to be a problem?

We have four Dante Weltinos on our farm, and another one on the way. Safe to say we are fans! He definitely needs the right mare, though. Honestly I think the main thing to be aware of with him is that he seems to need a mare with a good strong topline. In my experience, the neck and hip of the mare seem to come through in his kids. He seems to pair best with mares that have some blood or are more refined, as he consistently adds size and bone. His offspring are whip smart, very sensitive, and incredibly trainable.

As for the 3x Weltmeyer, that’s purely personal preference. I have certainly seen it done, though I may not go there myself.

I have a 9 yr old Dante Weltino mare that I bought as a just started 4 year old. All of the superlatives that the poster above used to describe her Dante Weltino off spring also describe my mare to a T. I loved her so much that I went back a year later and bought her Fine Time 13 yearling. I have done everything with this mare from soup to nuts from the gitgo. She is quite elegant and an exceptional mover. I am a 68 year old amateur and she is forgiving of my shortcomings and always eager to progress up the levels of our training. Dante Weltino is now back in the breeding shed after a 10 year break to compete. I am casually looking for a mare to breed to him.
