Darco Offspring

Hi all,
Just wondering what everyone’s experiences are with Darco kids. I currently ride a 14 year old son of his and wanted to know if he is typical.
The gelding I ride is smaller, maybe 16hh at most. He is a friendly little guy, but very spooky. Doesn’t care what the jumps look like but a muck bucket in the corner will make him shy away 10 times going past it. Not a self confident horse, but very talented. Like a little bouncy ball. I love riding him.
All I know about Darco offspring is that they are slow to mature, which I can imagine the one I ride was

Any input appreciated!

mine are pretty brave

having made that claim, do they ever spook- yes, they’re horses; do they ever act incredibly brave with big stuff and spook at a squirrel- yep.

Mine are youngish (8) so I’ll expect as time goes on there will be less “plastic bag” attacks. I find that some vitamin b crumbles before I get on improve the concentration quite a bit.

Interesting about the vitamin B. What exactly does it help with?

Anybody else?

vitamin B helps with calm and focus. you can try it yourself, trader joe’s sells little red pills to put under your tongue- it improves concentration.

horse vitamin b isn’t very expensive, so why not take the spook out of the little devil?

Interesting. Unfortunately he is not mine, so not sure if I should be giving him anything, even vitamin B. I’m not sure if it would keep him focused on his job or make him focus more on the muck tub/whatever else he doesn’t like :o
