Darkening Bridle

Any tips or tricks for darkening a new bridle. Used many many coats of hydrophane darkening oil on a Arc de Triomphe Tribute Bridle and still needs to be a bit darker but afraid to over oil it.

Thanks.

My favorite is Walsh “Blue Ribbon” oil, you should be able to buy it from their website if your local tack shop doesn’t have it. Its much more effective than most other oils because it has a little stain added to it, so it is darker right from the start and no need to over oil. Hydrophane is usually pretty effective though, are you sure the bridle doesn’t have some kind of coating on it that is preventing it from darkening? Blue Ribbon is the best though if you need to add darkening to it.
