Positive test for stimulants. Hopefully he just forgot to file a TUE.
I think in the Kentucky interviews he said he had a cold, so maybe the positive test was from cold medicine?
IDK. It is apparently in the “non-specified” stimulant category on the WADA list and most of the cold medicine types are listed in the “specified” category.
Class S6.A includes cocaine, amfetamine, weight loss medications, some ADHD meds, some medications prescribed to promote wakefulness….
Most of those aren’t something you would use accidentally. However a few of them might be prescribed as part of a concussion protocol.
anyone know how to determine if there is an appeal pending from the suspension?
concerning that cocaine and others are on the S6.A list
My money would be on stimulants prescribed for TBI symptoms before recreational drug use, but who knows.
The suspension only took place 5 days ago. The process moves pretty slowly. It takes awhile to gather evidence for an appeal.
Ehhh what the heck. Need more details.
We won’t get them anytime soon unless he speaks about it.
That’s fine. I’m sure he is not having a great time right now, hopefully he is doing ok and has some support.
Bless his heart he’s really had some tough injuries. I remember seeing the x-rays of his clavicles. They looked really rough.
I thought it was odd that neither he nor any of his horses were on the recently updated performance list for 2023
Why? He started three horses at Kentucky and only finished 1 (in third to last)…
The elite/pre-elite lists are 100% based on performance at competitions and equiratings these days. He’s not on the lists because he hasn’t met the requirements lately.

The cynic in me wants to say: "10 bucks he’ll get advice and be on ADHD meds in not time. Worked for others. "
That said, I saw him in Ky and boy was not healthy at all.
Em
I don’t think that will work for him. It worked for the U.S. younger ladies because they were young. Davidson has been around long enough that he knows he has to ask for a TUE in advance, to compete while on prohibited substances.
I was surprised that it “worked” for the younger ladies.
They were all professionals with significant upper level experience despite their relatively young age, and with very experienced coaches who I cannot imagine failed to familiarize them with drug rules.
Clearly the powers that be accepted their claims that they did not know they needed a TUE, but I struggle to believe that they were truly unaware of TUE requirements. You ride at that level, you educate yourself on drug rules for horse and rider.
Not to mention that one’s major owner is a doctor with significant contacts.
The ADHD in that case may have been 100% fact, but it never felt that way.
The testimony in the hearings included the “younger ladies” also using the excuse that the USEF never instructed them on the protocols and requirements of TUEs and WADA …effectively throwing Joannie Morris under the bus…and not taking personal responsibility…
