Day out with the Heythrop

Things are a bit quiet on the hunting forum so here is a great video to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV5nGeBcpyQ

Hope it works for you.

a) I hope I don’t meet the cameraman/rider out hunting because he is very, very pushy,

b) Yes, they really are galloping down a road.

Thanks Willesdon.

You tube is full of hunt videos and it is fun to watch, and in my case, dream.

I enjoy Nico Morgan’s photography website. There are some great hunt (and eventing) photos there.

I have been there.

I want to go back.

On a horse this time.

Just watching this again. IMO every red-blooded American man who thinks riding “English” is wussy should be required to watch this video before ever throwing a 30-lb. western saddle onto his horse.

Gotta love these red-blooded Englishmen! And red-blooded Englishwomen. And red-blooded English horses. And red-blooded English ponies. The blue-blooded ones and all!

Heh, been there, done that. Hunted with a number of British hunts, and a whole bunch of Irish hunts. One time, out with Golden Vale, we came in the back of a farm, and the locals would NOT let us leave via the front paved drive unless we jumped a pole set on top of two upright 55 gallon drums on the paved drive. They set it up, stood back with beers in hand and cheered us on. When someone would knock down the pole, they’d run in front, stop the riders, and set it back up. We were the entertainment.

No hunting for me this season. Just moved onto my place in New Hampshire. Just a house and 20 acres. Barn goes up next year. I have to get around to meeting up with Guildford Hounds and North Country Hounds this fall and introducing myself.

Meanwhile, washing socks in the sink 'cause the washer/dryer isn’t showing up til Saturday. The glamorous country life for meeeee…

Welcome to New Hampshire Major Mark. The Wentworth Hunt is still active in the seacoast end of the state the last I knew.
