Anyone have any connections with anyone down at either Delaware Park or the Chester race track that might be looking for a groom, hot walker, or any other positions? My job hours are being cut next week  and I’m concerned about not being able to pay the bills not to mention feed my two horses. Any leads would be appreciated.

No. Believe it or not, there is a racetrack in Philly that nobody knows about called Chester.
Chester is a harness track. I didn’t realize it was near Philly. For some reason I thought it was in western PA.

How wrong was I?? It is near Philly and it is part of a casino run by Harrah’s.
Chester Downs is 10 minutes from my house. They have no barns. Horses ship in for the day and leave after their race. They have paddock type stalls, but they are not stalls in the typical way.
Maybe you were linking Chester PA with Chester WV, which is, of course, very close to western PA.
No teapot in Chester PA.
Maybe I was thinking of Chester W.Va. My friend works at Presque Isle and for some reason I was thinking it was out tthat way.

I am proud to report that the teapot has been well kept and they have been weedeating around it very well !!
Salute, there are occasionally jobs available during racing hours at Chester, but you would have to know how to “paddock” a standardbred, or take one in for lasix., etc. This is a ship in track pretty much so all the horses arrive each day to race by trailer and then go in the ship in barn, race from the paddock, and go home. You would have to be on a trainer’s roster, and get liscensed as a groom. Go to the liscense office and pick up an application for a groom’s license and talk to the stewards there. They will tell you what you need to do, and sometimes if friendly will give you a lead.
If you don’t know how to paddock a harness horse you will be lost. The harness and equipment and racebikes are very specialized and you need to know how to do it before you get to the racetrack.
There is a harness trainer at Dana Irving’s barn that I know. He may need someone part time. This is a farm which has a track right off of Rt. 1 btw. Avondale and West Grove, on the south side of the highway, as you pass by you can see it. I know him and if you give me your experience I can let you know how to see him. Don’t know if this is too far or close for you, but if it sounds up your alley, PM me.
Thanks for the information. I didn’t know that the track at Chester was a ship-in. I knew there was a track there but I had never been. I didn’t know it was only harness racing either. I don’t know anything about standardbred racing so I think that may be a mistake to try that unless I can get on a farm for a while from what was said.
