CU at X tack in Wellington customized a Montar bridle for me. Full size crown and nose band, cob cheeks, oversize browband (Lusitano…). I know that Tota will aslo piece together their bridles…if you need something really anatomic.

Jeffries is one company that sells many of their bridle models by individual pieces. The last bridle I ordered for a client was a full sized crown piece and browband, extra full cheeks, and pony noseband! https://www.ejeffries.co.uk/jeffries-bridles.html

I have a custom solo equine bridle too. I’ve also taken horse sized bridle to the boot shop and had them shorten the cheek pieces at the buckles.

What I think is funny about calling this an “odd fit” is that literally every horse I have ever ridden for any length of time has a head like this, a full sized browband and a cob length head.

I have this problem. I took the cheek pieces to a leather shop and had the cheeks pieces shortened at the buckle end. Problem solved.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Very helpful.

Bridle2Fit sells all parts of different sizes so you can totally customize a bridle, or just get pieces.

Flexible fit, hands down. Wonderful quality, good prices. You can fully customize all the parts. They even have cob reins, which are nearly impossible to find separately.

I think Flexible Fit are now available in the US. I have the same with a TB having a cob nose and cheek but a full browband. I only have Flexible Fit bridles now.

My Fjord’sP’s is mix and match too. It took no small amount of work on the Google to find it, but they have a very detailed measurement chart by bridle and part, as well as a diagram on exactly how to measure each piece.

I went down the bridle rabbit hold last weekend and discovered that you can buy BR brand bridle pieces from Equiture in the UK. Their prices and shipping are really reasonable (and free shipping to US over £110 (I ended up buying a Solo Equine Simplicity).

I wish bridle companies would come out with a size between horse and cob- maybe “Baroque” fit or would an Arab fit be better? It seems like the cob cheek pieces and noseband with horse brown band/crown is a pretty fit request. I use a horse Arc de Triomphe on mine and just punched a bunch of extra holes in the cheek pieces and smallest hole/extra holes on noseband, but it barely works. Mine’s a Morgan but my trainer has the same issue with her petite nosed warmblood.

My half arabs fit Solo Equine very well. Wide/broad heads, but short in length. They need at least 16" browband with shorter cheeks. Solo works! Prior to discovering Solo, I would just replace the browband on a cob bridle with a longer custom, I’m lucky to have friends who make really pretty browbands and have received a few as gifts!

This was the most boring deleted by op thread I’ve ever seen :lol::lol:

I am totally confused why the original post was deleted.
@Fellbutbackup why is the original post gone?

Yeahhh, why delete the OP? It’s actually a useful and civil thread.

Too many notifications maybe?

It’s funny cause they’ll still get the notifications until they unsubscribe from the thread.

Agree it was a useful thread

But sometimes you just gotta crazy things up a bit

Ah, they also deleted an OP in Horse Care. OK then.
