Has the owner of the pony confirmed that the pony is not on the property? If not, the pony is not missing, this is a business problem.
The owner needs to drive to the property and pick up the pony if the contract terms have not been met. :yes:

This was a completely unprofessional move by trainer X to post that this pony was “missing.” Not only did they ship up a lame pony (it is notorious in zone 3 for not being able to even pick up one of the leads and it’s somewhat embarrassing for the child that they still take it to A shows and just canter around the course on the wrong lead) but the owner actually HAD been in contact with the people trying the pony; they were making arrangements to return it immediately since it was not as advertised. This has given me pause to ever do business with trainer x(the facebook poster) in the future.

Were you there to see the pony? They did post a “welcome to our farm” and stated how excited the kids were. Clearly, things went wrong during the trial. I really don’t think it is your place to talk about how a child should or should not feel about her pony. I hope you consider editing your post.

I’ve seen the pony for years, they have been showing it unsound forever. I have also seen two children try it and get thrown off. Can easily share details upon request. Really trainer x will be lucky if the potential lessees do not sue her for defamation and misrepresentation. I would want every bit of my money back if that pony arrived at my doorstep advertised as sound and ready for its job.

Not only was it nervy of trainer x to make her fb post, it was also extremely nervy of “Didi” to post in here about the “missing pony.” So no I won’t be editing my post. Anyone who wants to know who trainer x is or who the owners are that continue to show and try to profit off an unsound pony, pls dm me. It should be retired. Attempting to lease it out is downright unethical so then add these fb antics into the mix and I am stunned.

I cannot believe how nasty this has become. Can MODERATOR please delete the post? Was just trying to help a kid fond her pony. I was totally wrong in doing this. I was not under ANYONE’S guidance or instructions to do this. I apologize to those involved that I opened a Pandora’s Box of nastiness. Pirate should be ashamed. Lesson learned.

You should be ashamed. An innocent pony parent and farm owner were accused of stealing a pony and their reputations severely damaged. Some of those comments in the Facebook post before the full story came out were disgusting. You are the one who posted on here without all the facts. Keep denying that and I’m happy to name the parties on here by name rather than by dm.

The only nastiness on this thread was yours. You came on a public forum and “outed” an innocent party using her full name and farm name. She is local to me and I have never heard a negative thing about her. We all know how rare that can be. It took me all of 5 minutes to find out that you didn’t have all the facts. Perhaps if you hadn’t decided to play hero all this mess could have been avoided.

I agree. And her name and farm name are still up in another part of this forum. So unfair. The only deceptive people involved in this scenario are the trainer and the owner.

So- a trainer I know is leaving from KY to look at a pony in Pa and coincidentally my kid was asked if she wanted to show a pony with “lots of miles that didn’t work out” (we’refrom PA). Can someone PM me the name so we don’t get swept up in nonsense.
