Denny McCoy and Go Again Girl by Broad Brush

I was looking at this mare:
Go Again Girl (1990) by Broad Brush out of Native Derby.

She was purchased by Denny McCoy on December 10, 2011 at the Tulsa Mixed Thoroughbred Sale for $100:

Is it too much to hope that this guy is not a kill buyer? He bought 23 horses at that auction, none of which was more than $200. I guess I know better than to hope. It makes me sick. I love Broad Brush horses and this one produced some nice foals. I’m not saying a 21-year-old mare is worth more if her breeding days are over, but c’mon! It just isn’t right to throw her away. It just isn’t. I can’t understand why the seller wouldn’t put a reserve price on an old mare rather than send her off like that. It breaks my heart.

I hope someone comes on here and tells me I’m mistaken, that she ended up well, and that I’m creating an issue where there is none. The new owner could very well be this guy, and be buying mares for his own stock. I hope so!

Granted there would be some reason for concern given the quantity and prices. But if you google “kill buyers” there are several sites that keep lists, he is not on any of them, and the family seems to be quite well known and successful. Hopefully this is a good sign.
