Depo for a gelding

Has anyone had luck using depo for their geldings acting “studdish?” I moved my horse to a new barn a while back and he’s been around mares for the first time since I’ve had him and he’s just been really hard to handle. He’s not turned out with them, but shares a fence line. He’s been anxious, herdbound and aggressive to the other horses passing by.

He’s retired from showing, so I don’t need to worry about staying USEF legal with him. He’s boarded and there’s not much change we can make to the turnout situation.

Would depo be worth trying? Other suggestions that have worked for similar situations

Progesterone and ECP work well together and are less expensive than Depo.

Do you know how they are administered and how frequently?

We gave Depo-Provera injections once a month for three months to my three-year-old OTTB because he was kicking his pasture mates like crazy. It seemed to help, and I don’t think it hurt him.

10cc progesterone and 5cc ECP. 2 doses 3 days apart and then once a week.
I would have to check the concentration of my bottles to be sure but I think my progesterone is 200mg/ ml. Not sure on the ECP
