Devon Tickets

On the Devon website, it looks like the only tickets available for the Sunday night eventing class are reserved seats from $40-$50.

Does that sound correct? Is there no general admission option? I have never been to Devon for that particular class.

Thanks in advance.

You can buy general admission at the door but you will not have a seat. If you get there early enough you may find a spot to put a folding chair

Thanks.

So the eventing is also in the wheeler ring too. I’d recommend buying seats but if you don’t want to shell out the $$ for them if you just find a spot by the wheeler ring you’ll be able to catch a good portion of it with just general admission.

Has anyone found the full list of entries for this year’s arena eventing competition? I can only find outdated information promising to post the 2024 entries on the Devon website.

They sent out an email the other day saying that Boyd Martin and Buck Davidson would be doing it, but I haven’t seen anything beyond that. It also says on the website that they will post the start list closer to the show.

But the show is already in progress, so I don’t know how much closer they think they need to get before they put out more information.

Unfortunately, the eventing class is not included on the app that has the information for all the other divisions.

It gets posted the day before or the same day. It’s entered a little differently.

It’s interesting that almost everybody who’s doing the class has two in it.

I believe Boyd Martin ended up first and third. Pretty darn amazing.

I was surprised and a little disappointed that they didn’t use both arenas for the class like they have in the past. It allowed for riders to have more galloping fences and less tight turns.

Both rings were used in the first round. The jump off was in the one ring
The same as past years

It was exactly the same as every other year. They used both rings for the first round and the Dixon Oval for the “jump off.”
I do wonder if Arena Eventing’s days at Devon are numbered though. There were only 14 horses total so they did the whole first round to eliminate 2 horses as there were 12 returning for the jump off. If it weren’t for several riders having two horses it would have been a very short night. It was a pretty nice crowd once again but if the riders don’t support the exhibition there won’t be an exhibition left.

I can’t imagine the horse show would want to let something evaporate that draws so many spectators. I mean, the place wasn’t as jampacked as it is on Grand Prix night. But it was pretty darn jampacked!

I’m a little surprised that more of the event people don’t jump at the chance to win that much prize money, although I realize the logistics of showing off the trailer, etc., etc., are kind of a pain in the neck.

I used the phrase “jump at the chance” without thinking about it, but I’m going to leave it, since it still applies. Lol.
