"Devorah Aikman"-TB rescue- arrested on Animal Cruelty

She’s back! According to a post that was screen shot and sent my way this AM, Stephenville PD & Animal Control showed up at her house.

Deborah Reed
Dominion Racing Stables
Deborah Reed Performance Horses
Deborah Reed Cow Horses (new one!)

She gave me a gut feeling and boy am I glad she didn’t stick around our place (especially after finding this thread). She’s back in Stephenville TX.

I believe @cowgirljenn is still out there

Pass the word if you know any horse people in the DFW and west area.

That area, including Stephenville, is crazy with horses of all kinds, and especially the kind of western horse she’s asking for now.

You can tell people that an internet search on “Devorah Aikman” will show them a lot of information, and even lists of some of her many aliases. That may increase their confidence that concern is bona fide and warranted, not just an internet hatchet job, as many people are prone to expect.

It’s unfortunate that the penalties for starving and neglecting horses are often minimal. People are free to keep doing it, and just let the old legal charges just receded into the past.

I just sent these two links to the admins of that cowhorse FB group that she’s a member of, so they will hopefully block her from posting there:
https://www.facebook.com/poloponyres…1079603389218/
https://cases.justia.com/texas/eleve…?ts=1396146563

And I DM’d a warning to some of the people who responded to her Wanted to Buy ad-- encouraged them to research whether she is the same person as in these links. I couldn’t reach the ones who have their privacy settings locked down and don’t accept DMs.

If there is anything helpful about the situation, it’s that internet-searching the original name, and some of the others, turns up lists of links to information about her past history of animal abuse from media articles, legal records, etc. & so on.

As best I can tell, Deborah Reed’s posts are now down off that FB group. They received more than one heads-up and it seems the warning was understood.

I am confused. Is this a warning that she has surfaced again or is she actively mistreating animals at this moment yet again? Either way I appreciate the heads up but hope no animals are currently in harms way. I had the pleasure (sarcasm) of receiving a phone call from her years ago when she took issue with what I considered to be a pretty tame comment considering what she did to those horses. She is certifiable imo.

In the last week or two she was putting out “want to buy” messages on the internet for ranch-type broodmares. I failed to screenshot the FB post, but it didn’t sound high-end, the mares could be older so long as they were virtually assured of producing a few more foals. It was worded in an interesting way and I wish I had thought to cap it. Happy to say that today the post was gone after the word was passed to the group moderators.

This focused on the Stephenville, TX area, just west of Fort Worth. That seems to be a sort of home base area for her? As said, that area is rife with quarter & ranch-type horses at all levels of the spectrum, from elite national competitors to the most backyard-ish. Lots of other types and discipines of horses as well west of FW, but she was searching in the ranch-type FB group.

Keep passing the word on her. She’s clearly currently active in some way or manner. If one avenue is shut down, I’m sure she’ll go to another.

If we could find out where she is keeping horses, it might be possible to keep an eye on them for welfare.

Sorry I was mistaken. The post is still up on that FB group.

repeating a post above …

I have a friend in the DFW area big in the horse scene… I gave her a little wink-wink, nudge-nudge since she has several nice mares for sale.

Yes. She seems inclined to take her battles to court and pursue expensive appeals even if unlikely to prevail, so anyone who speaks up on this or passes around warnings should be really careful with their wording to avoid a defamation suit. Don’t get out in front of your skis and state anything as fact if you don’t know it to be fact.
I simply forwarded the links and said to research this buyer carefully before sending her your horse because her current alias and picture appears to match up to a person who’s been convicted in the past of animal abuse.

PS her Broodmare Wanted post is still up, but a member of that group ( maybe a COTHer, I don’t know ) has replied with a link to the court documents.

Sheesh, that list of aliases. I have trouble remembering a few passwords, I would never remember all those alias names.
