Did anyone else get a DVD in the mail from EQUUS?

I got a random DVD in the mail that I definitely did not order. It’s something about Training for Lead Changes, and the letter seems to imply that if I don’t return it I’m somehow agreeing to pay for it and receive additional DVDs (which I’ll also have to pay for).

Am I reading this right? Is this even legal? The “return by” date is one day from now…

AQHA did this last year I think it was. PO’d a ton of folks. Can’t remember what one is supposed to do. I will see if I can find out what happened with that. I had forgotten to renew my AQHA membership and missed out on the fun…LOL

wait til they turn you over to collections for it…ask me how I know

There was an old thread on this that got bumped up not that long ago-

But you don’t have to return it or pay anything. Just toss it.

They did the same thing a few years ago and I got one of the DVDs. I did nothing. They did nothing. It went no where.

Thank you! Sorry, I should have used the search function first. Appreciate it!!!

I got the Julie Goodnight one 2yrs. ago ( the subject of the previous thread). I kept it, didn’t hear anymore, but haven’t watched it YET.

I got one of those from Scientific American.
They kept sending notices that I was signed with their monthly DVD program, I ignored them, they went away.

I wonder if they gain more by the publicity and talk that stunt gives them, compared with annoying their customers enough that some may quit them.

Ditto Toadie’s Mom…You are under NO obligation to return unsolicited mail. I ignored it, never heard another thing from Equus.

When you are sent an item you did not order, then you do not have to pay.

Those marketing tricks make it sound like, if you don’t send the DVD back, you are automatically enrolled in getting one a month and will be billed for it.

Not so, you got that DVD you didn’t ask for, it is yours to keep, sorry and no, you don’t have to pay for something you didn’t sign for yourself.

I got that DVD too. I immediately put it into the return envelope, wrote a nasty note, dropped it in the mail, and cancelled my Equus subscription. I won’t be bullied into crap like that.

I wish I got one. I liked the Julie goodnight one.

I did. Took no action except to say WTF?

I put it right back in the mail. Once my subscription to the magazine expires, I won’t be renewing it.
