OMG. Those little pink tummies and teeny beeny feet. I want to kiss them and kiss them.
Squeee!
Thanks for putting a smile on my face today.
Two words…Litter Robot. Yes, they are expensive, but worth every penny. I have 6 cats and 2 Litter Robots. I have to empty the trays about once a week. You pull out the tray, wrap up the bag, put in a new bag, and close the tray. They use the bags for 13 gallon trash cans and I buy a big roll at a time for about $5. https://www.litter-robot.com/ There is no odor.
I do have to have large mats in front of them as I have a litter-kicker that can spread it 20 feet if given the opportunity and the litter gate didn’t slow him down in the least.
I have back problems that preclude litter box duty, which my DH used to do up until he passed a year ago. Two Litter Robots were immediately purchased. I did get the extended warranty as I bought refurbished units One gave up the ghost about a week ago. I called their customer service and they shipped out a replacement base free including shipping without a hassle.
The kittens are adorable!
OK, I am officially in love with your SO. I vote with him/her.
She’s so cute you can’t resist yourself from keeping them. Those pink tummies I’m feeling like holding them and kissing them continuously
OMG!!! They are so stinking cute I can’t stand it!!! Just wait til they’re bouncing around and doing the crab hop.
Mama looks so sweet. I’m so glad she’s doing so good with the petting.
Btw, I too agree, your so is a keeper! Does he have a brother??
He has two… Both eligible…
Kittens are getting very rambunctious! They are 2 weeks old as of today. Momma has started to take little breaks from them, sitting on the other end of the kennel from the ‘kitten-crib’ passed out. She is doing well, will take treats out of my hand and even rubs on my hand for pets now, but is still timid.
Yesterday, I was cleaning out the litterbox and Tux#2 (Momma’s boy, one with high white) was hissing at the plastic bag. S/he he was standing up and looking very imposing, for a kitten that is all of 8 ounces.
The little white tabby is a confirmed wanderer. She traipses all over. Her mother’s face, her siblings’ bodies… doesn’t matter, it’s getting walked on. She is also the most inquisitive so far, and is more engaging than the others.
Tux#1 is sweet and chill. Just wants to be where the good drinks are had.
The tabby is HUGE. He has stopped being as much of a bully, mostly because now his siblings are biting him if he tries to push them out of the way.
I have been handling all four of them regularly, as has SO, but they really don’t love it and scream for momma. How do kittens survive in the wild? They’re so LOUD!
I am estimating on genders here. I have been told I could probably sex them by now - does anyone have any tips?
Here is Momma’s Boy scoping out the scary plastic bag:
And a blurry picture of the Wobblies all together:
Aaah!
Aaaaaaahhhhhh!
No words, just
1 heart for each cat 2 B in the @beowulf household.
& How old are those eligible brothers?
Asking for a (geriatric) friend
Awww … they are darlings! And I am happy to hear about mama cat’s progress too.
Sexing the kittens: turn them upside down and look – little boy bits look like a colon; little girl bits look like an upside-down exclamation point.
Kittens in the wild (or buried between stacks of hay in the barn) Only make noise when mom returns from an outing. Maybe because they have a dark quiet place there is less sensory stimuli to react to?
Thank you for the kitten fix for the day . . . so cute!!!
I love the collective term “the Wobblies” - reminds me of a 60s British punk band name. That tuxedo baby is SO FREAKING CUTE. I love that little face!
Kittens in “the wild” don’t make a ton of noise, unless they’ve been abandoned. As mentioned above, they cry when Mum returns to the nest (sometimes when she leaves, but not for long), but not just constantly. But she usually has pretty good instincts about when to feed them and she won’t let them go too long without her presence.
Ahh… that kitten fix will hold me over for a couple of hours.
So cute!!!
If you’re on Facebook, look up “kitten Lady” page. Tons of info on raising kittens.
Oh, and…goodbye IS the goal. I have 4 foster fails. But out of roughly 160, not so bad
Thank you for sharing that site. I love her and little ChoChou kitten is adorable!
And yes, lots of great advice.
Omg they are SO CUTE!! Love the tux boy
I have the Litter Robot & love it. It has a big footprint, so I only have room for one. I still have a big regular litterbox, so cats can chose. I know I should have more (4 cats) but my place is all on one floor and it has worked so far.
If you have a big cat, they might have some trouble if they are claustrophobic. If you have a really big cat, they may not fit.
One of my cats is obsessed with it. Even after 1.5 years she runs to see it move, then has to use it immediately after it’s been cleaned after another cat. She only uses the robot. Two others use both, with a preference for the robot. One (biggest at 13 lbs) only uses regular litterbox. I’ve seen her in the robot, but she’s not thrilled with it.
To make it even easier, I just use a tall kitchen garbage bag, pull out the drawer, put bag over the drawer like a pillow case (drawer inside bag), push back in. Magic.
Want him??? Our next XC schooling meet, I will bring you a little kitten present…
