Only one of the kittens is spoken for (black tux) so… Seriously. I would love for them to go to COTH homes. There are a few local orgs that have told me they can take them, but they implied they’d likely be barn cats given the momma is ‘feral’. In my neck of the woods a barn cat is synonymous with coyote food, so I’d rather find them pet homes personally to make sure they don’t end up the way their momma did. 
I’m about 45m NW of Boston.

I’m pretty sure there are only four kittens. I initially read it the way you did, but “and now there are eight” must refer to original three plus mom plus four kittens. Not eight kittens, which was my original interpretation.

I would love to but…the family consensus was that the current cat/people balance shouldn’t be disrupted. Probably the responsible thing.
But, I will be on the lookout for people I trust who want an indoor cat. (NW CT area)

I have been down with a nasty bug so have been limiting interaction with kitties to just “clean litter and leave” - not sure if colds are zoonotic but I don’t want to find out. 
Here is some royal stink-eye from momma after I changed bedding on Monday:
These kittens are bigly. The biggest is the solid tabby - he weighs nearly twice what the other littles weigh. We are keeping an eye on him to make sure he is not hogging all the milk.
They are still so small but I am starting to see some personalities. The biggun (tabby) is a bully and just bulldozes his way through the siblings. The black tux with a white face is a total momma’s boy. Always snuggling up by momma’s chin after s/he’s done drinking. The other tux is Chillness personified; he is the only baby that doesn’t scream his head off when I pick him up for litter changes. S/he just falls asleep in my hand. The white tabby is an adventurer and traipses all over, treating his/her littermates and momma like a jungle gym.

OMG, they are so cute!!! And when their eyes start to open - watch out!
I wonder if the tabby is from another tom? If he had different genetics and a day or two more in the incubator, that might explain why he’s so much bigger.

She’s a tough little nut to have shoved out that big kitten first! Forewarning, this situation is exactly how I ended up with 7 housecats 12 years after a rescued little mama had kittens… ha ha
Enjoy the babies, in this day and age a responsible person doesn’t get the kitten/puppy newborn experience often.

Yes!! Their eyes started to open on Saturday… First one to open was the little white one. Their personalities are coming out much more. They are still little lumps that don’t do too much, but the little white one will play with you and even look at you when you come close.
Momma now takes treats out of my hand and will stand up to be petted, big progress!
I know we’re not supposed to have favorites, and we’re not supposed to get attached, but it’s so hard!!
SO asked yesterday: “So… what’s stopping us from keeping them?” Oh lord, lol. The litterbox, that’s what!!

OMG SO CUTE!!!
And your SO is an enabler and I have to join them: what’s stopping you from keeping them? So you spend an extra 10 minutes a day cleaning litter boxes . . . when the reward is ALL THAT CUTENESS, it’s a pretty good trade-off, yes?
