To make a long story short my friend and I decided to buy an investment horse together. We have casually looked for a while and last week a nice looking colt popped up, 3 year old TB, 16.2. Bay, super sensible, W/T/C intermediate rider, total kick ride, cheap but a little green. No vices, sound.
So of course we go to look at this unicorn and he is exactly as advertised. Seller and I have met before and she freely offers a two week trial, everybody is happy.
During the chit chat that ensued my friend is admiring the seller’s lovely Corgis. Friend tells seller that she is looking for a dog for her 7 year old daughter. Seller tells us she has a young rescue but sadly he did not like the two kids that had been there the previously. So it’s probably a no go.
We go back today to pick up the horse, bring the daughter and she goes over to see the dogs. The rescue Corgi comes right over, gives her a sniff, jumps up, licks her face and starts following the little girl around. Lets the kid hug him, rub his belly and the rest is history. So we came home with the chillest TB in the trailer and a super handsome Cardigan Corgi in the truck
The look on that little girl’s face will stay with me. Don’t get me wrong I am jazzed about the horse, he is really a heck of a find. It is the magic of a little girl and dog. It was just a great day, I think I will be smiling about it for weeks.
