So, this morning there was a post by a newcomer purporting to be someone wanting to interest their child in the “glamorous” sport of riding.
IIRC, a couple replies addressed the question, then someone posted this seemed like SPAM as poster had another thread that became a clickbait ad.
I posted, thanking the COTHer who identified the troll.
Now the thread is gone, along with my response.

I reported both of the OPs threads last night, as the initial thread they posted had two links to Big Ear ear plugs for motorcross riders. Clearly spam - though they were clever, and started the thread with a question about why CoTH would be hacked - then their second post had the links to the ear plugs.
I think the second thread about having their child ride in the “glamorous” sport of riding was simply in jest, maybe to hide their true purpose of selling ear plugs for motorcross.

The mods delete spam. Sounds like the first post was spam, and the responses were calling out the spam. So the whole thread got trashed. Doesn’t sound like something related to any breach, just standard housekeeping.
Yup, just a spammer with a somewhat more unique approach than most!
