I bought a brand new 3 horose LQ and had it for 3 months when the 3rd horse window shattered! I wasn’t even loaded with horses, I was on my way to pick a horse up. I arrived at the farm where my horse was and saw the window was shattered. I contacted Lakota to replace it under warranty and they refused to cover it! Terrible warranty for these trailers. The screen door would not close and they refused to cover that as well and a tie ring Rome and again, Lakota refused to cover it. I’m very disappointed in their business tactics. Please make a trailer that will hold up past a year
Hmmm, I have never bought a new vehicle of any sort but do have a second hand trailer. I can see where all these “trim” or peripheral things might not be covered, because they are so easy to break from use or misadventure. I don’t think a new vehicle warranty on a car would cover the window being broken or the radio antenna snapping off, for instance.
Perhaps other people who have bought new trailers can chime in with what is normally covered in warranty?
A warranty is like an insurance policy (or piece of legislation or regulation) in that you have to read it to ensure you know what’s in it. It would surprise me that a new trailer warranty would not cover the items mentioned, except maybe for the window. The manufacturer selected the materials, the design, and put them together. If after 90 days there are fit and finish issues that would suggest a manufacturer issue (unless there were evidence of owner misuse). After a reasonable period (like a year or so) then we begin to move away from manufacturer responsibility.
The OP needs to read their warranty and see what was included and excluded. If Lakota is failing to take care of covered issues the the OP has a legitimate beef and there are ways to enforce manufacturer compliance with their contract.

Did a rock thrown up from a tire on a passing truck possibly hit it, good thing no horses were in the trailer? Why not try putting a claim on your insurance, assuming you have your trailer covered in your auto policy. I’m not sure a shattered window would be covered in a trailer warranty, unless you could prove it shattered on its own due to a manufacturing defect.
Would your car warranty cover a broken windshield? Likely not. It wouldn’t cover an accident either. This is not the trailer manufacturer’s fault.
Alas I’m not surprised.
When the late Mr. C’mare and I went trailer shopping, we crawled (literally) thru several. The Lakota was horrible. Very poor welds, slipshod construction etc. My dad is a welder (Mig, Tig & Acetylene Torch) so I know what good welding is.
I wouldnt expect it to be covered under warranty either.
That said, I wouldn’t buy a Lakota to begin with. Just my preference.
The screen door shutting and a tie ring breaking off both sound like manufacturer issues that should have been fixed or at least looked at. Sad that they were not willing to do anything.
A broken window is harder to blame on them.
I am amazed! I had a broken window on my Lakota not long after I bought it --drove it from IN to NY and back --at some point a window broke. The manufacturer fixed the window immediately! As to the screen door --that may be more involved --not sure if Lakota does their own LQ or not. If they are doing the LQ off site, then maybe the responsible party is the LQ manufacturer. My trailer was a three horse bumper pull. Although it did have a screen door, that would have been installed at the factory. I am sure you have contacted Customer Service at Lakota --consider doing it in writing, hard copy, as well as email, and phone call. I don’t think it should take that much effort on your part, but I do think you are right here.

Foxglove made an excellent post.
Just wanted to add that I’d talk with the dealership from which I purchased the trailer. Something happened to my trailer (not your brand) and the dealer fixed it- maybe I paid for parts but not labor- can’t remember.
OP --can you update us? Did you call Lakota directly? Hoping everything worked out for you . . .
