Today I’ve had some issues with the forums rerouting me to this page http://www.chronofhorse.com/content . After loading either the form subtopics pages (ie: hunter jumper, off course) I’m rerouted. I am not clicking anything. I even just used the “attach a link” button and when I clicked cancel it directed me to that page so I lost the message I was typing. Issue just started about 20 minutes ago.
<edit> when I submitted this post it rerouted me again. The message did save though.
I haven’t seen that behavior yet. However, I have a bookmark to the Discussion Forums level and just use that (and yes, always stay logged in).
Haven’t had that issue but I book mark the different sections of forums…that I visit often. I also stay logged in.
I’ve never had it until now. Never had to make a bookmark. I just type in “chronofhorse.com/forum” like I have for years and that has always worked. Same issue is happening today. Forums are cherry picking what reroutes. Right now I have tabs for “Hunter/Jumper”, Off Course, Menagerie, and Off Topic and Hunter/Jumper is the only one (at this moment) that continually reroutes itself.
The only thing I can think of that has changed on my end is I cleared my cache (due to issues on another site) and then I did have to login again to COTH. I usually do keep myself logged in.
@rockonxox Sorry for the trouble. Have you clicked the “remember me” box when signing in since clearing your cache?
Yes, I just had to login that one time since clearing my cache. I clicked the remember me and haven’t had to login since. This is really such a strange issue! I wish I knew how to take a screenshot video so I could show what it is doing.
rockon, that sounds like maybe a scumware problem… Do you have a scumware scanner?
I am still having this issue on two different computers. Both at home. One I never use for anything and is an ancient laptop with a brand new harddrive so shouldn’t have any spammy stuff on it. One is my constant use laptop. Both are at home. My work computer is functioning properly. I am concerned about my backburner laptop having this issue. Both have antivirus protection. I’ll run a scanner on both and see what happens. It just seems so strange that it occurred after I cleared my cache. Was perfectly fine before then. Hopefully happy updates so I can read COTH at home and not on work’s dime.
This suggestion is admittedly pretty lame, but I’d try clearing your cache again, just to check. Often times these weird mystery glitches that are limited to individual users can be resolved with basically “resetting” the cookies, etc.
