Do my new tall boots fit right?

I just bought the EGO7 dress boots in 37 S/+1.

I read everywhere that the calves should be really tight, which they definitely are, but now I am worried about the size of the shoe part itself.
In regular shoes, I am a 7.5 in US sizing. However, for the EGO7’s, they measure in European sizes. I bought a 37 and took out the sole insert, which would be roughly around a 6.5 in US sizing. Nothing in the foot is painful or uncomfortable. My big toe does not touch the top of the shoe, but my little toes touch the sides of the shoe. There’s no rubbing, but it is definitely a little snug right there. Also, I can move my toes only a little bit in the shoe. Should I be able to move my toes more and should my little toes not be touching the shoe?
Thanks!

Personally I always error on the side of having shoes/ boots be a little too big rather than too small, especially if I’m going to wear them all day at a show, but if they feel ok they feel ok. But aren’t you going to at least want the insole to be in there? They are probably designed to have one and may be pretty uncomfortable without one.

They will likely stretch a bit in the foot so you might be fine. You could try a little boot stretch on the foot part to help them break in and stretch. Me personally, I like room in the foot and a not too tight calf either but that’s just me.

Why didn’t you buy the shoe size that corresponded to your regular size?

Never mind. If you have doubts then they probably don’t fit comfortably.

Unfortunately, they didn’t have any 38’s in stock at my tack store and a 39 felt too big, so I didn’t want to risk ordering it when I was unsure if it would fit or not. I think I am going to be ordering the 38’s though.

Snug in the foot is perfect. It will stretch to perfection.
You don’t want it to be loose because it will collapse.

Don’t look at the marked size… every company has their own sizing, I’m not kidding. I worked in a shoe store and than a tack store. I measure 8.5 and buy 7.5 ariats, and 7 in LaMundial. I buy what fits.

Also, is they are « off the shelf » check for all calf measurements that goes with the different sizes. If you end up ordering the 38, the calf sizing (even if it says S/+1) because it might not be the same.

ETA : Yep, like I said, really not the same measurements!!! http://www.ego7.it/sizing/?lang=en
