Do we like Baker Fly Sheets?

My Rambo won’t hold up for another season and I remember reading rave reviews on COTH about the Baker fly sheets…who has one? Likes/Dislikes? Worth the price?

no, too stiff and scratchy

They are super stiff. Either people like them or hate them. I have the duramesh weatherbeeta that is stiff like the Baker. Its heavy too but its held up really well.

Very stiff. Mine lasted from 2001-2014. So I do like them.

I didn’t like mine at all. Like others have said too stiff. I also found it to be cut different than the cotton sheet I have. The neck opening is higher and it didn’t fit around my horses neck.

I wouldn’t neccessarily mind the stiffness if it A) makes them more durable and B) is comfortable to the horse and doesn’t rub. So, do they seem to rub? My guys aren’t the easiest on their clothes so a stiffer flysheet may be a good thing. What about the hotness factor? Do they seem to breathe as well as the softer flysheets like the rambos?

I bought a Buccas particularly because I thought it was soft(er) - still rubs her shoulders even though it is roomy because it slides backwards. I’m using a slinky, for better or for worse now.

I have used the Baker fly sheets and also the SmartPak/Kensington ones. Both are pretty similar fabric, the Baker maybe a tad more substantial. Quite durable. Have never had any rubs from either. The one time I went for a softer mesh (a Weatherbeeta), it fit strangely, and did not fit well thru the neck and shoulders. YMMV.
