Just bought myself a copy of this picture!
Let’s see your horse’s win/race photo! An after picture would be fun too

I got my guy’s win picture! It’s absolutely amazing to watch the transformation (got him right off the track).

Had to check facebook. I don’t have any actual race photos, although I have a few of her in a stall at the track with her tack on and a few of her being exercised. Nice pictures of both horses.
I couldn’t find mine! I really want it, though…
Haha, I love how I requested “after” pictures and didn’t include one myself. Doh!
Here’s an after of my guy:
I don’t have his win photos, although I did recently find a place online where I could order it, but I can watch videos of winning races through the tracks replay service. He laid back and smoked them at the end!
I bought this picture of Dove:

Her one win!
This is last spring:

Oh nice! This is the place I found that has the win photos for my guy too.

Me either. I emailed Suffolk Downs for info about a year ago but they never responded.
I never bought his win photos but I did find some awesome action shots on shutterstock of my boy!
There is a series of 3, this one is my favorite:

after photos on my blog below
I love seeing these!
My once in a lifetime horse, Brooker, passed away a year ago. He raced from 2-11 years old and won 26 out of 109 starts-- running in everything from G3 Stakes to claimers. He came to me as an 11 year old when I was in high school. While he was not my first thoroughbred off the track, he was definitely the first real racehorse I was ever around. It was because of him that I became involved in racing.
I got him in the days before photographer websites. I didn’t even realize I could still purchase his win photos until probably the mid-2000s, when everything became accessible online. Unfortunately, by that point, a couple of the track photographers had passed away. However, I have been able to successfully track down a few photos:
An allowance race at Monmouth, 1992
His last win at Delaware Park, 1997
Here’s a whole album of pictures of his post-racing days that I put together last fall when he passed away unexpectedly at the age of 26. I miss him every day.

I’m impressed by Dove riding right past a GIANT scary tarp!
My horse never won a race, but I have his 2-year-old auction video.

After watching that, you can probably see why he never won anything haha
ETA: I’m pretty disappointed that he was greyed out at 2 years old. I really want to see what he looked like darker!
Yes, I have win pictures, 'cause my OTTBs won for me.
I don’t have any win photos, but I was really lucky and was able to get 4 videos of his races. It is hard to believe that the lazy horse that requires spurs and a crop was a successful stakes horse. Really amazing to see him run.
Does anyone have any pointers as to how to start searching for your horse’s win photo? I’d love to find my friend’s horse’s for her.

Look up his record on Equibase to see where he won then call the track to find the number for the track photographer and provide the date, race # and horses name.
I have my old OTTB’s only win photo (which was given to us by his race owners, and it’s a good thing as he won at Ladbrooke DRC and I doubt very much I could track it down now) and one of Lucky’s (he won four times, the one I have is from an Allowance race at Gulfstream.) I’ve also watched his Delaware win on calracing.com’s videos, and he’s a hoot–longest shot in the field, opened up about ten on them right out of the gate, and hung on by a desperate nose. If it had been six furlongs instead of five he probably wouldn’t have even been in the money.

Thank you! I was able to find info for the track photographer for both of his wins and have reached out to them. Fingers crossed!

Ha! She’s so funny. She’s really not at all spooky about that sort of thing. She never cared about the tarp. She never batted an eye about the jack rabbits darting out from under her feet (scared the crap out of ME, though!)
But man, you take her on a trail ride off the property and she would totally lose her shit when it was time to turn for home.
