Over a year ago, I bought a TB gelding out of a kill pen in Pennsylvania. I am curious about his background but have nearly exhausted all my leads. When I found him, he had a full body clip and four shoes and there is a suspicion that he is a former fox hunter that fell through the cracks. (He also had a sore back.) His Jockey Club name is Capwaynesglass and he ran on the flat and jumped. He’s safe now and living out his days in NC but I’m curious to find out any details about him. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10209394126828480&set=o.1154583521232465&type=3
Oh dear god. Contact Emily and Jimmy Day in Millwood, Va. Jimmy trained that horse over jumps.
He’s 10. Homebred by Felix Neusch in central Virginia.
I have no doubt he was ‘given to someone who promised …’ blah blah blah.
CALL THEM. They’ll make it right. Email me for their telephone number/s and emails.

Please let us know if that is indeed who he is and what you find out!
Yes! Really want to know the story on this! If only so we can avoid this happening. So glad he is in a good place.
(I wasn’t paying enough attention - this wasn’t ‘over a year ago,’ this was at least TWO years ago!)
I spoke to the trainer and he reminded me we went through this a couple years ago and I even sent the OP racing photos of the horse!
Not sure why after 2 years we think someone may remember, but, whatev.
The trainer does not recall any better now than he did then where the horse went after they had him.
Thanks - I was able to track Emily and Jimmy Day down last year when I first found him but the trail goes cold after he left their care. (They’re the best!) I thought I’d give it one more try before I officially declared it unsolved - Cap isn’t talking though I have a feeling he has quite a tale to tell.
