If so, which do you prefer? Any complaints? How would you improve them, if you could.
Would neon colors be something you’d be interested in? Matching fly bonnets?

When I first saw neon hunter orange boots I was not happy. Those were the only ones available since it was off fly season that we needed them and those were the only ones remaining… I bought them and just told horse he would have to wear them
But now I can find him as being a bay before he just blended into the shadows of the tree line
I use the Shoo Fly leggings. I love that they stay up and on the horse. I love that they are loose fitting so that I can leave them on all the time.
I wish they were a tad more durable and that they came in more colors.
I use Cashel but just ordered Shoo Fly based on several recommendations from fellow cothers.
Shoofly, but with more durable fleecy stuff at the bottom. I love those things, and am only upset it took me so many years to be introduced to them.
Shoofly leggins. My mare wears one set 24/7 for about 3 seasons of the year. This year they have upgraded the liner at the bottom of the boot. I am hoping it is even more durable than the previous version.
Shoofly…24/7… worth every single penny
I used Cashel last year. They absolutely disintegrated after a couple of weeks. I brought them back to the tack shop where I bought them, and the tack shop owner immediately replaced them.
Tack shop owner said Cashel made it good with her.
Maybe just a bad pair?
I use Shoofly and they do a great job. I also like Kennsington leg wraps- durable and stay in place.
I’ve used Shoofly for years and she wears them 24/7. I take them off every few days and shake out the shavings and check her legs for rubs. Last year I bought the neon orange. Easy to find my horse in the big pasture, and easy to find the wrap if lost. I don’t use them while riding–I use Smartpak mesh fly boots.
the miniatures got their Shoo-Fly boots today, little bitty box came with three sets

I just bought some Cashel neon orange fly boots. I picked that color so that if my mare loses them in the pasture they’re easy to find.
Last year, while I was gone and Mare was on full shed board (outside 24/7), not one of the barn staff noticed she had lost both front shoes, and she spent days stomping flies on hard footing and cracked her feet really badly.
It’s taken a year for them to get better and one hoof still has awful cracks. So I got the boots to see if that would reduce any stomping.
Mare also won’t be out 24/7 this year, so she will be handled 2x a day for turnout / turn in, and “hopefully” the staff will notice should she lose shoes again and call me or the farrier!!
That’s heartbreaking. Can you adopt one of the barn staff and start tipping every month, in exchange for that person keeping a special eye out? Lots of barns won’t call you for thrown shoes, cuts, etc. You have to be very specific bout what you wish to be notified about. Then, pick one individual to hold accountable. Monthly extra $20 - $40 usually keeps your horse fresh in their mind
Thank you.
I actually know the staff, I work some shifts with them at the barn, and I had asked them to contact me if anything was amiss.
But you’re right, next time I am away, I will choose a reliable person and pay her to give me weekly updates / photos and even groom my mare for me.
I wish I could find someone to just free lease her for the months I am away but she is a tricky ride and I would feel nervous someone would get hurt riding her. She is awesome on the ground though, loves attention
