Do you wear a unique stock tie?

I keep looking at the unique/custom stock ties and wonder if anyone is really wearing them. Anyone?

I have a friend that has a gorgeous one that coordinates with the piping on her saddle pad and her horse’s brow band. It is a bit much for me and my horse - not because I don’t like it, but it looks fussy on us. I have also seen some really fancy and brightly colored ones while spectating and scribing.

Friends is similar to this one: white, but edged in two colors

I have one with pale blue piping that I wear with a pin that has a small opaque pale blue stone. It’s all fairly conservative… impossible to tell apart from a plain white tie from a distance, but it makes me feel happy to have something that adds a bit of my own personality to my show outfit!

Etsy is my go to place to find unique stock ties. It’s a cheap and fun way to change up a show coat. I see quite a few riders in my area wearing them.

I have a pretty tapestry jacquard white on white material but my real treasure is a horseshoe pin with seed pearls that was my mothers

I think it is one of those things that are allowed, but you have to “earn” the right to wear it. You better blow people out of the water to be wearing a bright stock tie otherwise you’ll look foolish.

I have been eyeing a raspberry red stock tie for so long!!! I don’t think I’m ready for it, though.

Edited to add link: These are my dream stock ties: http://stocktie.com/

I have a lavender one with blue and purple trim, and a white one with blue polka dots. https://www.darajamesdesigns.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html - she makes beautiful stock ties!

I second Dara James - she can make anything you want, and they are lovely!

I have one from Equus Couture (equus-couture.com). They’re very unique and her fabrics are beautiful and often one-of-a-kind.

Thanks for the links. I hadn’t seen some of those before. I like some color. Im not sure I could go wild, but I also like some of the more wild ones.

I dyed one of my stock ties pink for our annual breast cancer benefit show. That’s about as wild as I get.
