Dobert Bridles?

I am told they are comparable to the Albion Bridle at a better price. I have an Albion Double that I LOVE!!! I need a snaffle for a different horse. Does anyone have one? Or have thoughts on the comparison?

thanks

I have a lovely, but elderly, Dobert bridle that is really excellent quality. It is the raised, padded version, sort of like a rolled bridle but not, with the raised front reins to match. I think they only make this style custom nowadays. I’ve been contemplating buying a new noseband for it.

Anyhow, if the quality is anything like it was 20 years ago, I’d be happy with another one.

I really like the Doebert bridles. The leather is lovely quality, and the price is great. They do not have the bit hanger suspended over the crown like the Albions do (they patented that, those sneaky sneaks), but I think they’re super bridles.

Midgey wears a Doebert double (attached).

I have a really nice (older) cob size Dobert double bridle that looks exactly like the one on dressagediosa’s horse. Got it off Ebay several years ago. A friend recognised the logo on the leather and said “WOW, you have a Dobert!!!” Guess it was a really lucky find, I paid peanuts for it, had no idea who made it until just last summer.

It’s too big for my Welsh stallion who is now doing 3rd level and besides, he already has an Otto Schumacher double to ride in when it’s time.

I had a Dobert bridle that I sold with the horse I used it on. It was absolutely lovely. I’m going to buy another one for my new mare. The leather was always soft and supple and held up well. It’s about 10 years old now and looking great (I see it in the pics of my old boy with his new owner).
