In addition to everything they do in the horse show world, Danny Robertshaw and Ron Danta run a rescue that they started after Hurricane Katrina. They’ve saved more than 11,000 dogs so far, and there is a new documentary about them from the same people who did the film Harry and Snowman.

They do an amazing job with their rescue, and it seems like they are always finding strays on the road and taking them in too! Looking forward to seeing it in September!
Honestly, they were doing that on a smaller scale for years and years and years. They just got more organized after they formed the official rescue. :lol:

I loved every second of this documentary! It is amazing the work these guys have done and their daily schedule is quite impressive. They gave a brief talk after the screening and were so warm. My boyfriend commented on how they didn’t even mention their charity once in the talk. It was all about making shelter dogs feel loved in our own communities. My only regret is that I got too shy to take a picture with them at the end. Everyone go if they come to your town!
That’s too bad because they would have been happy to do it.
