Does anybody ride at D'Alonzo Ranch, Stockton. CA?

Hi, following on from my thread the other day about looking for somewhere to ride near Lathrop, I came across D’Alonzo ranch. I sent them an email and as of yet haven’t heard anything back.

I was just wondering if anyone rides / boards / trains there and what the atmosphere, people etc are like.

I see that they have an opening for an assistant trainer and this might suit me down to the ground so just wanted some general info and/or if anyone on here rides there and whom to get in contact with as they just have one of those generic email forms on their website.

Thanks in advance

Never been there but they used too (maybe still do) host small entry level schooling shows. I don’t know who owns it or currently trains out of there. I don’t think it’s an “A circuit” kind of place.

I think maybe giving them a direct call would be better than filing out website form. I know a lot of people don’t check their email but communicate better via phone call or text. Sometimes emails get lost is spam folder, etc. Or try FB, may be more direct.

Thank You for the reply. I hate speaking on the phone, my British accent gets in the way and if I say something un-American in person I can figure it out better. Over the phone i have no idea which word wasn’t understood! I will FB them, I just don’t want to be too overbearing so will give it a day or two.

Call the Jack Tone Ranch in Stockton, CA…get your butt on one of the most amazing lines of Arabians…great folks there

Don’t know anyone who rides there but have several friends who have gone to a lot of their shows. A good time is always had. They come home happy and beribboned and I’ve never heard anyone say “OMG that show was a nightmare” or “the footing sucked” or “the owners are a PITA” or anything like that. They’ve been there a looong time and their shows are well attended, which they probably wouldn’t be if it wasn’t well run. It’s just, well a location you’d go to show but not to board probably. Closest civilization just to the East is Stockton. 15 miles to the West is Discovery Bay. That’s the closest Starbucks

Don’t worry about your accent. We Yanks, especially out here in the wild west, in the english barns anyway, sort of have an assumption that anyone with a British accent was training wild ponies to fox hunt before they could walk and has an encyclopedic knowledge of proper leg bandages.

The closest Starbucks to me at the moment is 35 minutes away so anything on that is an improvement!

I’m glad to hear they are nice people, I received an email this morning to give them a call so I will have to suck it up and just get on with it!
It’s funny the perception you have of us English folk, I think my Mother hated me as a child and she used to put me on all sorts and then yell at me when I came off! I guess it was good for me in the long run, and she is batty. She’s 65 and now in the process of breaking a 3yo by herself :o

Here is a photo of me when I’m 7 years old riding a 12.2, over a course my Mum had built… in her head I think she thought it was an Olympic trial or something!!
