@horsepoor I was thinking of this when working in the barn tonight and was grinning about your horse with his toybox. That’s just too funny!
Mine would pull it all out and then eat it from the floor.
Unless they can pull it out through the mesh like a haybag, I’m not sure how well it would work. I have metal hay racks in two stalls (came with the barn) and they have never worked, not once. Every time I ever put hay in them, the horse felt compelled to fully empty them and then eat.
My horse is your horses twin. Literally pulls it all out and lays down, then munches laying down.
I’ve tried hay bags, corner feeders, you name it.
So much wasted hay.
Thanks, this also looks interesting!
Along these lines, I found this picture on Pinterest…but not anywhere else I hate it when that happens.
I use the nobel corner feeder,
they take up a bit of floor space but my big horses do pretty well with them. they eat like they are eating off the ground, it just keeps them from pulling out most of the hay
Thank you, I have seen those and they look useful, but I just don’t want to take up the floorspace. They’re also backordered…the supply chain stuff is so frustrating.
I could be mis remembering, but I think the prototype Porta Grazers were a similar design to that. I just scoped their website and didn’t see any mention of it sadly.
The title with the pic on Pinterest was “fresh aire cone hay feeder” although Google doesn’t turn up anything of interest with that. I assumed it’s British with the spelling?
I went down a bit of a Google-hole and found these (they all seem to be British, though)

I’d like to find one like these too - I’d love to get one of the High Country ones, but the shipping is prohibitive!
I saw this DIY one and am kind of tempted to try making one…

Or, maybe I’ll just wait for the Schneider’s one to come back in stock…
These guys have some really neat stuff!! That scoop would be great for the triple crown senior brick I’ve been chipping away at
Too bad we can’t get it here, booooooo.
They don’t? The site mentions shipping outside the UK. Why not ask!
if you call noble, they typically have them, the issue is they dont provide free shipping, for me shipping cost almost as much as the feeder, they have stores that sell them in stock in Idaho and I am sure around the Pacific Northwest, but not in California. As far as floor space they really dont take up any space the horse would really use, but I guess if you had really small stalls it could be an issue, they just work so well for feeding my horses compared to anything else I have used.
