They have a 25 year rust guarantee, and since my Lucas stays are rusting at 9 years, I’m very interested in buying a different stall for my next barn! Any other recommendations for a European style stall?
There is a Classic Equine and Rocking J companies you can check out.
Or get galvanized stalls.
We made ours out of metal and spray painted them and they do need repainting regularly.
Is the nature of things exposed to elements and items that are painted to need repainting, wood or metal.
MDBarnmaster and others use much galvanized metal.
That tends to last very long before rusting, but comes in only one color, silver.
Have you contacted Lucas about that?
I bought 5 of the Euro front Saratogas for my new barn. Haven’t got them in yet, but will update when I do. I will say they are incredibly heavy duty (and heavy!) and I got a terrific price on them. Company was easy to deal with and the materials themselves look amazing.
They have a 25 year rust guarantee,
I tried to find the warranty to read it but to no avail. I was in manufacturing for many years, we had product warranties that ranged up to seven years From the date of manufacture. But we had production serial numbers on the equipment so we knew the start dates.
These stalls I would think do not have production codes which leads me to the question how would they know if your stalls are in or out of warranty?
If that warranty is a primary reason to purchase be sure you understand the qualifications, often as a limiting factor the original sales receipt is required…not a copy. Whatever their warranty is read it understand it and be prepared to use it
(What ever their requirement I would stuff that documentation inside one of the tubes and mark that as the location of the paperwork)
Chips in the coating I suspect are not a warranty item since in the site’s frequently asked question was one about repairing chips in the finish. I would kind of suspect the finish warranty is what you desire.
I was in several production meetings where warranty came up as our competitors kept extending their warranty but narrowing the coverage of the warranty. I suggested we offer make it a 100 year warranty narrow to the nuts and bolts from breaking… so they just remained with the historical warranty periods
Yes! I am building a new barn and ordered 10 of the European front stall plus stocks. They are gorgeous and heavy duty!
Also got a great deal. They took a little longer to arrive than expected other than that I am thrilled with them.
Here is an old thread I came across looking for where Saratoga stalls are from, to figure what shipping may add to those:
Seems that Triton and Saratoga may be the same company?
Not sure yet where they are from, that is something that should be up front, so customers can decide if they are somewhere close or far off?
Glad that some had good experiences with them, sad others didn’t.
I spoke to them, and the 25 year no rust guarantee is on their galvanized stalls. Which make sense. Powdercoating and horses do not mix well. They look great for about two years, and then they start to rust if you are not constantly retouching them.
Yes, Triton is the lower-cost line made by Saratoga Stalls.
Yes. Another manufacturer based in Canada has the same thing to say. As much as pretty, powder-coated hardware is the rage right now, the galvanized stuff is the more durable product.
