I have the Schneider’s Lux Ceramic sheet and I much prefer the fit of it over Back On Track …and I also have a Rambo Ionic sheet which also fits better in my opinion than the BOT
Oh interesting, as I HATE the fit of the BoT on my horse - it just digs into the withers and really pulls at the chest. Would you say either of these fit better there, or some other type of improvement?
Do you find the Lux and Ionic sheets keep them as warm as the BoT?
I checked out the Lux sheets after seeing this thread. I’ve hated the fit of the BOT sheets on every horse I’ve tried them on. They slide back and become very tight at the chest and withers. The sizing is also a pain - the BOT sheets run huge in my experience. My WB wore an 84" in all his other clothes but swam in the 84" BOT. 81" fit him perfectly. My TB wears a 78"-80" - WB’s 81" BOT was way too big for him but the 78" is almost too snug.
I love Schneider’s other VTek blankets for my shark fin TB, so I’m intrigued that this sheet comes in a VTek option. I might have to give it a try.
Yes …I hate the fit of my BOT …whether I’m my wb’s or my Tb’s it is tight in the shoulders yet somehow loose on the chest and creates tension on the whithers …I’ve been using the Rambo ionic size 78 on my big bodied Tb gelding who is about 16.3H and weights about 1250lbs …this horse gets cold backed very easily and has not had a single “episode “ as I like to call it when I get on …so he wears the Rambo Ionic as his base layer during the winter …i also keep the Weatherbeeta Therapy Tec fleece cooler on him while tacking up for to and from the ring …now I do use a BOT saddle pad without any issues and I believe it seems to help keep his back warm as well. The Schneiders Lux I’ve been using on my 16.1 Wb mare 1200lbs size 78 …that also fits much better …no tightness or rubbing of the shoulders like the BOT sheet …she also wears this as her base layer in winter …it seems to keep her muscles warm as well.
Yes I completely agree about the fit of the BOT sheet …the Lux is also nice because of the VTEC which is good for ones with prominent whithers
PSA: Schneider’s is running a promo - up to 50% off the Lux line this week (3/7-3/13).
I’ve had my eye on the VTek wither relief sheet to replace the BOT since I really don’t like the fit. Grabbed one for $179 instead of the $285 regular price!
Yes …I have one …it’s been about 2 years now …seems to work well and fits much better than BOT
Pony has been wearing the Lux Vtek sheet almost continuously for the past 3 weeks and seems to be loving it. Fit is excellent, and the sizing is fairly consistent with the rest of their blankets - generous. The fabric is a little heavier than a BOT mesh, but it’s a grippier cotton that doesn’t seem to slide at all. None of the slipping/shifting/pulling that I noticed with the BOT.
