I sadly lost my young horse back in October and when she was euthanized the clinic gave me her entire tail. She had a Barbie Dream Horse type tail - insanely thick and perfectly black. While I have plans to have a bracelet made, I was unsure what to do with the rest of it and then my mom suggested I get it made into a fake so I can use it on my other bays. I thought it was a really nice idea and a great way to take a piece of her into the show ring where she shined so brightly. I want to do this right and be sure that it is properly made so I’m hoping someone has a suggestion as to where I can get it done. I’m happy to ship it, but if there is anyone in the Ocala area, that would be ideal. TIA!
The cheap route is to do it yourself with epoxy or hot glue, a piece of tubing, and some string. Otherwise, I know there’s a girl in Florida that makes tails that you might ask, Uniquely Different Tail Extensions is the name I think.
They aren’t that hard to make yourself. I’ve made double loop extensions by making two thin braids for the loops, secure them with an elastic, get a piece of shrink wrap tubing and a heat gun to hold it all together, lastly pour some superglue onto the top for insurance.
Natural loop, etc would be more difficult to do yourself.
How long is the hair? Most warmbloods need at least 36".
I know kathytails creates custom fake tails. Try to contact them.
Midge on here can make one for you.
