I’d check with vets in the area (and farriers). But I doubt anyone will dime themselves out with him in that condition.

Post originated with my vet who has him at a trusted friend’s farm.
Agree owner won’t appear, but hoping someone in the area may have a clue.

Oh! I thought a vet might recognize the interesting nostril detail.

God, humans can be shi**y! Honestly, we need a better, less expensive and humane way of euthanizing horses in the country. I sincerely hope he recovers or is put out of his suffering.

My vet is pretty pragmatic.
If he was needing euth, I’m thinking that will be put on the table.
But if he has a snowball’s chance of becoming another Bo, he’ll get it.

At his age and condition this is the only humane solution. Probably why he was dumped.

Do you recall Bo’s condition/age when @Heinz_57 first got him?
Similar.
From October '22 to July '23 her refeeding program made the change needed.
Hopefully this old guy can get the same chance.
Says the owner of 24, 21 & 10.

I do but Bo while severly underweight wasn’t as conformationally challenged or as old? I bet this old horse is pushing 30??

Not popular but my personal opinion is that you just can’t / shouldn’t try to save them all. Sometimes it is far kinder to end their suffering.

Not many @Heinz_57 's around ,willing or able to take one on.
