Does anyone still sell the Ariat Volant Side Zip Tall Boots?

Tried on my friend’s Ariat Volants, old style, with the zip that starts at the top of the foot and wraps around the outside of the calf.

Incredible fit. Of course, they appear to have changed the style to a rear calf zip, and that style has never worked for me in any boot, any brand, any style.

Does anyone still sell the old style volants? Am I best to just comb ebay?

Any comparable brands? I’m very partial to the ariat footbed, I’ve had foot issues in the past and can’t deal with a thin or poorly constructed footbed.

Thanks!!

Not much help. I have these and love them. You can still find some sizes in stock some places. They are actually called the front zip.

Thank you, I’ll put in an eBay search and hope something comes up

Forgot to add, look at the Ariat Vortex, it replaced the Volant.

I have both. They changed the sizing in the Vortex boots so significantly that I wouldn’t consider the Vortexes unless you can try them on first. The ankles are slimmer and the calves are much larger.

I often see people selling the front zip ones on FB sales pages, so I would think that you could still find them on eBay

Like PNW said, I just sold a pair on FB. From my experience, they seem to be in demand.

I was at Horsemen’s Outlet this afternoon, don’t know what size you need, but they had 1 each of regular (medium) height slim calf in 7, 8, and 8.5. They are in their clearance room, so final sale. You can call them or order from their website too (they only show the 7 & 8 available online, but I saw both those boxes in store AND tried on the 8.5 which wasn’t listed online). Hope this helps, I’m unfortunately continuing my search! https://www.horsemensoutletnj.com/ariat/ariat-womens-volant-tall-front-zip-boot-4194

Thanks for the tip, I called and they don’t have my size, 8.5 WM.

Buy from Canada, plus with the exchange rate, it’s cheaper for you.

These Tonics have the same zipper style you’re looking at

No promises (because I really don’t remember what I have) but there’s a possibility I have a 9 medium height full calf pair if that’s someone’s Cinderella. NO PROMISES. I would have to look.

Those are gorgeous! Thanks, going to check them out!!

I would be interested in these if OP is not

Mine turned out not to be the side/front zip

I did some searching and found the Tonics jumper boot sold through a store in the US: https://www.equestrianconcierge.com/product-page/tonics-jupiter-tall-boot

My size was not in stock so they had to be placed on order, and they took about a month to get to me, but they are exactly what I was looking for and are very very similar to the Ariat Volant Front Zip.

I had already purchased a pair of the new Ariat V Sport Zips (8.5 WM) and had unfortunately already ridden in them once before I saw the post about the Tonics, so they can’t be returned, and I had to chose between the two, so they are now available if anyone is looking for a pair.

How did you find the sizing compared in the Tonic vs. Volants? I’m looking to replace my front zip Volants as well. Looking at the size chart for the Tonics, I’m kind of in between sizes in both calf and height so debating whether to order down or up. I wish Ariat would have kept the front zips - I love mine and hated the back zips I tried.

The Tonics are TIGHT. I have always worn the Ariat WM which has a 15 3/4 inch calf, I bought the 41 Tonic even though it is reportedly a 16 inch calf, I am still breaking them in by wearing them around the house, I can only zip up over bare skin, the lady at Equestrian Concierge reported that they would likely take breaking in and they are designed to be a very tight fit as they are designed in the newer “soft” style of boot that is mean to hug your leg rather than the older “rigid” style of boot that stood on its own.
