Does Horseware ever put blankets on sale? (Rambo, etc)

Maybe last year’s colors?

Love the Rambo. Hate the full-price…

Adams often has good deals on the Rambos. They’re still expensive, but it’s a LITTLE more palatable…

Definitely check with Adams like mentioned above. I just got an email from them a few days ago with some on clearance. I think I have seven Rambos now and I haven’t paid full price yet. All I got on clearance at Dover, Smartpak and Equine Affaire over the years. You really have to keep an eye out for the clearances but they do exist.

Unfortunately they go very fast if you need a 75, 78, or 81.

Adams has some on sale now! Just got an Amigo 1200d med weight with detachable hood for 150, free shipping. Ok it’s black with orange so he’ll look like Halloween but horse is a grey so I’m good with it. They did have some Rambos too.

Dover had Amigo Hero 6 lite sheets for 60 on cloesout colors, snagged one for each boy.

Jeffers Equine sometimes has good deals too!

Also watch Ebay, there’s a couple dealers there who sometimes have great deals on Rambo.

I got a really nice Rambo from Dover’s clearance section earlier this year. It was something like 30-40% off. Now may not be the best time of year to look though. I usually start looking in January and can generally find some good deals through March or April. A local tack store here claims that Horseware doesn’t allow them to put their blankets/products on sale but I have not found that to be true at other stores. Deals are hard to find but they’re out there.

The last few years, they’ve also had a $50 off deal if you trade in an old blanket.

For you Horseware fans, there is an active Facebook group called “Horseware Tack - New and Used” specifically for buyers/sellers. It is an active group with 9500+ members, so you will have to ask to join.

Dover’s Adams Saddlery has the old color of the optimo on sale now on eBay.

Drs. Foster and Smith also occasionally has great deals on them.

A) thank you for this post because I just bought 2 blankets

B) For those looking at the Amigo heavy and medium closeouts on the Adams site, if you use the coupon code MISSYOU, it will give you an extra 10% off!

Thank you so much for that coupon code!!! Just bought an Amigo medium with a neck cover for $135 including shipping. I think the Halloween colors are actually pretty cool. Only problem is my other horse’s Amigo medium is black with red trim so the two 17hh dark bays will be hard to tell apart from afar, haha. I have really liked the quality of the Amigos and I prefer the straight neck closures to the V ones of the Rambos.

Do the amigo’s run the same for sizing as the Rambo’s? My guy needs a 78 in Rambo-- I’ve never tried anything else on him. Because you know I really should be buying a blanket when he just had colic surgery on Tuesday.

No promises but my guy wears 81 in both, and SmartPak has the same size chart for all Horseware lines.

Wishing your boy a speedy recovery!

Colic surgery:eek: After paying for that, you will need a big discount. Glad your horse made it successfully through the surgery.

Thanks everyone. It’s been a bit of whirlwind. My grandfather passed on Friday (which was a loss but we had been expecting it for some time). I still ended up competing at Kentucky Classique-- placed in the BN Championships (this is both our of respective first year eventing ever) then he coliced on Monday night. He’s super hardy and never had any issues. We thought it was likely enteritis, but then his lab values changed and they recommended surgery. To say I was a basket case from everything is an understatement. He had a strangulating lipoma and needed surgery- thank god for insurance. They removed about 2 feet of small intestine. I’m so thankful for his vet team-- he’s up at Rood and Riddle and I have nothing but excellent things to say about them (and the way Great American is handling the claim so far). And he pooped today! Oh the little things…

Argh! I know…I had two black TWH in matching Weatherbeetas a few years ago and I felt like they were twins. Now I have a black horse and a grey and I make sure their blankets are different colors.

But dam*!! I could have saved $15 on that blanket. sigh…

They rarely come on sale, but several people have made good suggestions about how to find them at sale prices. I’m a huge fan of Rambos and Amigos and got several off clearance racks at various times. The Rambos engulf my mare but she seems to like being all bundled up when it’s cold. Will be looking for an Amigo for the filly since she is still growing.
